THE THIRD CONSTRUCTION REVOLUTION

First Revolution: More than 4000 years ago, the Egyptians invented glass; since then, rooms have had sunlight.

Second Revolution:More than 200 years ago, Englishmen invented cement; since then, cities have had high-rise buildings.

Third Revolution: In 2009, BROAD invented BSB; since then, the world has been a better place.

On August 21,2009the world's first sustainable building was built in one day

VALUES FOR USERS

EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT

HEALTHY

COMFORTABLE

ENERGY EFFICIENT

Level 9 Earthquake Resistance

Clean Air

80% Energy Efficient

Warm in Winter, Cool in Summer

• Passed Level 9 Earthquake Resistance Test hosted by China Academy of Building Research (on Nov.11, 2009)

• After passing through multistage filteration, the fresh air biought into the room is 20~100X cleaner than the outside air• More than one complete air exchange per hour removes residual

harmful gases; room interiors also do not contain formaldehyde • 100% fresh air; no mixture of indoor air and outdoor air which prevents

cross-contamination of indoor bacteria

• Walls and windows completely insulated; guarantee constant indoor temperature • Open space with 2.85 meters tall ceilings

• Exterior wall insulation 100~400mm (different climate zone, different thickness)

• Triple-glazed windows with external solar shading and interior insulation • Heat recovery fresh air unit• Non-electric air conditioning

VALUES FOR OWNERS

RELIABLE QUALITY

WORRY-FREE SERVICE

FLEXIBLE APPLICATION

LONG LIFESPAN

Factory-made

ModularDesign

• Detailed R&D• Rigorous production method• Rigorous material and production process inspections• Completely eliminates cheating on materials and labor

on construction site• Complete after sales service system

• Changeable wall, door and window position system making room functions easy to adjust

• Easy to check for steel structure corrosion by opening wall panels

• Easy to re-paint every corner of steel structure; with anti-corrosion treatment BSBs can be used for

hundreds of years

THE VALUES FOR DEVELOPERS

8 Floors per Day

Single-Party Responsibility

Energy Efficient and Environmental Friendly

A Wonderful Future

• The world’s only modular-designed building; many floors can be installed each day• Rapid return on investment; land can be used quickly• Complete construction package; transparent pricing; avoids

selection fatigue• Complete building structure and interior decoration simultaneously

• National rewards for energy efficient buildings in terms of incentives, tax cuts and preferable loan policies

• National land priority support• Cities support no-waste buildings• City residents support no-scaffolding construction

• Factory made; no waste; low cost• Top-quality construction, so selling price is significantly higher

than other buildings of similar type• Media voluntarily promote environmentally friendly buildings, reducing advertising cost• Saves energy and reduces CO2 emissions; protects the health

of users; appreciates brand value

• Forecast the finished building even before construction; no quality risks for developers • Less communiction time between local design institutes & construction parties• Less communication time between equipment suppliers and

material vendors• Lessen or completely eliminate customer complaints

SHORT CONSTRUCTION PERIOD

LITTLE HASSLE

EXCELLENT GOVERNMENT POLICIES

FAME AND FORTUNE

Page 7: Broad Sustainable Building

6

Factory-made• 100% factory-made; no on-site installation waste• No scaffolding; no falling objects during construction• Step by step installation; layer by layer facade

completion; no urban environment impact, dust-free construction site

Conventional buildings create approximately 200kg/m2 construction waste, and the construction of a 50,000 sqm. building generates roughly 10,000 tons of garbage. Construction waste comprises 30-50% of the total city garbage, and the transportation of building materials and dust generated on construction sites account for 10-30% of city air pollution, and also consumes and pollutes a large percentage of urban water resources.

VALUES FOR THE EARTH

LESS RESOURCE CONSUMPTION

LESS CO2 EMISSIONS

Construction: 6X Less Material

Operation:5X Energy Efficient

• Total consumption of various building material is 300kg/m2 on average

• While guaranteeing indoor comfort, yearly heating and air conditioning energy comsuption is 50kWh/m2

on average: Very cold regions: 20~40kWh/m2

Cold winter/hot summer regions: 30~70kWh/m2 Very hot regions: 40~90kWh/m2

(Note: Energy consumption is based on primary energy use calculations. Energy efficiency of 500% is based on China’s current situation.)

(Buildings with different applications and densities vary in energy comsumption.)

Traditional building material consumption examples: (kg/m2) BSB material consumption examples: (kg/m2)

Note: Buildings consume 50% of the raw materials and 40% of the energy in the world.

WHY BROAD?QUESTION

ANSWERS Vision:

Experience:

Ability:

CONTRAST

Why didn’t the construction industry invent such an advanced building while a central air conditioning company has?

The building industry is a divided industry, with no power to change, nor ability to research, develop or invent new building systems Designers do not construct; construction groups do not design; researchers do not have factories; universities lack funding

• BROAD’s philosophy is “We Preserve Life”; after the Wenchuan Earthquake, BROAD devoted all of its efforts to earthquake resistant building research

• Over 20 years, we have only made energy efficient products, and products that substantially improve people’s health

• All of our products come from our own research, and grow out of our innovation focused corporate culture

• We have provided products and services for tens of thousands of users in over 70 countries, and are thus familiar with the strengths of different types of buildings

• For many years we have researched building energy efficiency; our building renovation projects in BROAD Town and with the UN have saved energy by 80%

• We have spent the past 10 years exploring steel structure buildings; in BROAD Town, we have been able to construct many of our buildings with 300% less steel than original designs, and they have passed the test of a once in a 100-year blizzard

• We have developed hundreds of types of the world’s leading central air conditioning chillers, water distribution systems and air purification products

• We use strong mechanical testing systems our products with each product component passing repeated tests; we also use international standard testing tools and instruments to ensure that each product is designed properly with notting wasted or missing

• Perfect execution; over the past 20 years, we have reached our development goals with every product that we have developed

• Ample funding for research and development; for the past 15 years, BROAD has had no debt, investing as much we deem appropriate on R&D

TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

Detailed technical information is rarely provided for users within the building industry. No one has questioned it, which is sad. If you purchase a refrigerator, there is a sticker on it indicating all technical data and a thick manual as well. We aim to correct this problem and provide this information for our BSBs.
