materials, and computer Web sites to find information• It encourages your child to explores subjects more fully than classroom time

permits• It allows your child to extend learning by applying skills to new situations• It helps your child integrate learning by applying many different skills to a

single task, such as book reports or science projects• Homework helps parents learn more about what your child is learning in

At the British school of Ulaanbaatar we use a system that encourages independence and a high quality finish.

(Homework not given for homework’s sake)



Time

For each task students should spend between 60 and 90 minutes to ensure that it is finished to a high standard.

Level 3 and below

In UK secondary schools, most children are expected to progress 2 sub-levels each year.

These attainment levels are used in all subjects, but the examples given are for core subjects (English, maths, science).

Most children will attain level 4 by the end of Key Stage 2 (Year 6), and level 6 by the end of Key Stage 3.
