British Fashion in the International World
British fashion in the international world has been acknowledge all around the globe and to say or to
speak of the represented status on the high street in the UK is neither to say why in Europe or in the
United State of America us Brits represent class, style and individuality.
Looking around the globe let’s start by taking a look at our neighbor the French, the French has most
recently fallen in love with us Brits; especially the love of our Onesie. The love of the adult romper suit
has emerged into a craze where Parisian shoppers are snapping up the known French word as the Unsie
(aka Onesie). Making French shoppers who buy the Onesie the most sold oversea country to buy the
Onesie than any other oversea destination.
The French believe that Londoners are more stylish than themselves. They like the fact that Londoners
have choices and believe that the price of clothes is cheap, where in France clothes are expensive and
uninteresting.
Looking at the Germans. Germany is known to be Europe biggest fashion consumers. Where the Germans
would leave Germany on a voyage to Paris, London or even New York in pursuit to attract exceptional
fashion talent. The Germans tends to find their taste of understatement and simplicity in other countries,
leaving Germany with a very small fashion influence.
John Crocket is a designer who design and distribute British clothing to young German fashion buyers and
during the recession he was able to distribute and focus most of his sells to consumers with interests in
his leisure attires. He markets to Turkey, Germany and also UK of the British fashion by running a family
business with his wife. This label was founded back in 1987 by Thomas Schmitz from Cologne, Germany
with an outlet selling tweed jackets, shirts and cashmere, made from Scottish wool.
So us Brits around the globe we are known for our fearlessness and individual sense of style, so to be given
the image and name of the ‘thrown-on’ feel to what we wear is an understatement. This goes a long way
by mixing prints, patterns and styles and many Brits pull this off effortlessly.
Contrasting our British style against our sister the Americans, where they like to be casual, comfort-
focused and laid back. The women tend to wear simple pieces with impeccable style and the love of the
original Levi 501 jeans has become the everlasting fashion for the Americans.
To say us Brits are tacky it’s a phase that the French will defend by the fallen love of the Onesie, the
Germans will class by the appreciation of our clothing by producing and distributing all British clothing line
from Germany, which is marketed all over the world including the sells to us Brits.
To be classified and named by the Americans as being fearless and having an individual sense of style
makes the classic wear of the Americans Levi 501 a shared taste that we as Brits can mix and match for an
evening at the Pictures.
