Funding for Postgraduate Studies The Graduate School at King’s currently offers over 100 postgraduate studentships and bursaries. King's Africa Scholarship: The Graduate School at King's College London is offering a scholarship to the value of £5,000 each, to students of any African nationality who wish to pursue a full-time Postgraduate Taught Masters (PGT) or MPhil degree programme in any discipline at King's. Sussex is delighted to offer scholarships worth £3,000 for all overseas fee paying students from Nigeria admitted to start an eligible Masters course in September 2015. Type of award Scholarship will be awarded as a fee reduction. Award amount £3,000 Eligibility In order to be eligible for a scholarship you must be a self-financing student from Nigeria and have accepted an offer of a full-time place on a Masters course at the University of Sussex commencing in September 2015. If your offer of a place is conditional you will need to meet the conditions of your offer before you are admitted to the University and awarded the scholarship. The scholarships relate to all full-time taught Masters Degree courses at the University of Sussex (e.g. MA, MSc, LLM. MRes) excluding the following courses: Postgraduate diplomas, Graduate Entry LLB Common Professional Examination (CPE)/Graduate Diploma in Law, Graduate Diploma in Economics, Masters degrees in Social Work, Social Work post qualifying Masters degrees PGCE courses and schools direct teaching courses, MSc Automotive Engineering Master of Education (two years part-time) MA degrees in IDS apart from the MA Gender and Development and the MA in Climate Change and Development Pre-Masters degrees and diplomas taught at partner colleges which are validated by Sussex. The scholarship is available only to self-financing students. If your tuition fees are funded by an external funding body you will not be eligible to receive the scholarship. The scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship funded by the University of Sussex. If you have been offered any other Sussex scholarship and wish to accept this award, you will need to decline the other scholarship or vice versa.

Application procedure: You must apply for admission to an eligible Masters course via the University's PG Apply online application system between 1 October 2014 and 1 August 2015. If you are made an offer, you will be asked to indicate your interest in the Sussex Nigeria Scholarship when you accept your offer online. If you have already accepted your offer, you will be asked to log in and do this later. The scholarship will be awarded automatically as a tuition fee reduction to eligible students upon enrolment at the University of Sussex.

Timetable: The deadline for application to an eligible Masters course is 1 August 2015. Further information: If you accept a Sussex Nigeria Scholarship you will be required to undertake occasional promotional or support duties for the University of Sussex at times agreed between yourself and the University (e.g. providing text for the prospectus or web page). Schools of study may have specific duties they wish you to assist with.

Chancellor's International Scholarship (2016): 25 scholarships are available in the majority of Sussex Schools, and are awarded on the basis of academic performance and potential. The scholarships are offered for one year. Type of award: Postgraduate taught

Award amount: 50% off international student tuition fee

Eligibility: In order to be considered for the Chancellor's International Scholarship you must meet all of the following criteria: Have applied for and been offered a place to study on a full time Postgraduate Taught degree at the University of Sussex (e.g., MA, MSc, LLM, MRes, Postgraduate Diploma, and Graduate Diploma) excluding the following degrees: * Courses in the Institute of Development Studies, except the MA in Gender and Development * MSc in Social Research Methods + DPhil combined (1+3 degrees) * International foundation years, postgraduate certificate, International Year One Diploma in Business and Management, and Pre-masters. * Pre-Masters Degrees and Diplomas taught at partner colleges that are validated by Sussex * MSc Automative Engineering (you should consult funding opportunities at the University of Brighton) * Masters in Business Administration or Masters in Education * Courses within the Brighton and Sussex Medical School Be assessed as liable to pay fees at the "overseas" (namely the non-EU) rate. Have sufficient funds to meet your tuition fees and living expenses, after taking account of the possible award of a Chancellor's International Scholarship. Intend to remain on the programme for which the scholarship is offered. Students who hold other University of Sussex scholarships will not be eligible for the Chancellors International Scholarship.

Chancellor's International Research Scholarship (2016): The University of Sussex is seeking to attract 10 international research scholars A scholarship will normally be tenable for one year in the first instance, renewable annually for a maximum of 3 years for full-time doctoral students. The scholarship will cover international fees and provide a stipend which will match that provided for UK doctoral students by the UK Research Council. Please note that applicants will need to supply their University of Sussex application number when completing their scholarship application form. Degree Entry Programme students100% DEP Scholarships for high academic achievers

This Scholarship offers a specific group of high academic achievers the opportunity to enjoy a full year of free tuition fees (40,000 AED) for the Degree Entry Programme. The scholarship is structured as follows:

6,000 AED off each of the DEP and years 1-3 tuition fees of the programme the student progresses into and 16,000 AED off the 4th, Honours year. This scholarship is subject to successful progression to the following year without any re-sits

High academic achievers eligible for this scholarship are:

Students that Score at least 5 A grades in relevant IGCSE/GCSE subjects.

WAEC students scoring 5 B2’s in relevant subjects

Students that meet the overall scores for the 100% DEP scholarship but do not qualify for it (usually due to not meeting an individual core subjects’ criteria) are eligible for a Merit Scholarship of 15% on the Foundation year's tuition fees. However, it should be only one core subject, and that core subject should be a minimum of B grade or equivalent

A level student with grades equivalent to: 260 – 279 UCAS Points (eg: BCC or A*A in relevant subjects) get 5% scholarship on

net tuition fee applicable for the first year of study*

Merit Scholarship scheme: £1,000, in year one only and based on academic performance. Available to all international students applying for full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Coventry University. Scholarships are allocated on the basis of academic merit. (Postgraduate applicants must hold 2.1 or equivalent, undergraduate applicants must hold two of three A-levels at grade A) There is no separate scholarship application process: all undergraduate applications from self-funded international students from any non-EU country and postgraduate applications from international will automatically be considered for a merit award. You will not have to do anything; if you are successful you will be notified in due course by the International Office.

Health and Life Sciences Scholarship Scheme: The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Dean's Merit Scholarships scheme offers £2,500 to undergraduate students (first year only) and £1,500 to postgraduate students. Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis and applicants will need to submit a 500 word essay explaining why they should be considered for the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences scholarship. The scholarship is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate international students wishing to join a degree programme within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences in September 2016. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of both the essay and academic merit (postgraduate applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree at grade 2:1 or equivalent). In order to apply for this scholarship, please: Submit a 500 word essay outlining your academic achievements and any extracurricular activity. Successful applicants will be asked to act as ambassadors to Coventry University. Please outline what skills you would bring to the role and also outline your plans for when you complete your programme at Coventry University. Automatic Merit - £2,500 - £3,000
