Synergy Synergy is when more than one company comes

together to promote a product using various media forms. E.g. Film, Soundtrack, Video games. This is used to make more sales and give the company more revenue

For example - Disney Pixar’s ‘Cars’ released the soundtrack to the film, toy cars based around the film and also a video game to create more profit and promote the film.

Cross Media Convergence Media convergence is the combining of two or

more mediums. Some of these mediums are: TV, Film and radio. An example of this is when the music industry

(Adele – Skyfall) comes together with the film industry (James Bond – Skyfall) to produce a song for the film

The difference between Synergy and Cross Media Convergence

The difference between these two is that cross media convergence involves only media products (films, music, websites) where as synergy can involve other products that don’t involve the media. (merchandise).
