Briscoe Primary School & Nursery www.hearts-briscoe.uk Thursday 20 th July 2017 Dear Parents and Carers, What a lovely week to end a really positive year on! Year 6 put on the most amazing musical extravaganza this week. They were absolutely brilliant and their singing and acting talents astounded us all! We will all miss them and I think that was evident this afternoon as we bid them a very emotional farewell in their leaving assembly. We wish you all the very best in your new schools and know that each and every one of you have the potential to be whatever you want to be! We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our families for your continued support; Briscoe wouldn’t be the place it is without you! Last week you supported us with the summer fete and we are so proud to tell you that we raised a staggering £1,391.45 in total! As you know the children planned, organised and ran their own stalls for the event as part of an enterprise project in school and we are very pleased to announce that Nursery raised the most money on their toy stall. Well done to them! We wish all of our children, families and staff a restful, peaceful and enjoyable summer break and look forward to seeing you all in September. Goodbye and Good Luck!

We would like to wish Miss Sheridan, Mrs Nichols, Mr Billingham, Miss Raker, Mrs Thompson and Miss McCutcheon the very best of luck as they leave us to

go on new adventures.

Mrs Nichols is joining another school which is closer to where she lives as she currently travels over an hour each way to work at Briscoe!

No more M25 Mrs Nichols!

Mr Billingham and Miss Sheridan are going to work abroad in Thailand and Egypt which is an amazing opportunity for them. They have promised to keep

us updated on their adventures.

Miss Raker is leaving us to have her baby - which is due next week! Well done to her for making it to the end of the term! We will let you know the gender in

our first newsletter in September.

Mrs Thompson, who works in the Nursey, has made the decision to spend more time with her family. Enjoy!

Finally, as you will remember, Miss McCutcheon left us for a year to take up the

position of an interim head in Canvey and we are delighted to say that she has

been appointed as Headteacher of her own school in Colchester from

September.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them for

all of their hard work and dedication to Briscoe and to wish them every success

for the future.
