The Artists’ Village is the home, studios, gallery, chapel and joint architectural legacy of the great Victorian artist G F Watts and renowned designer Mary Watts.

Groups of 8 or more people save on admission prices and get a discount in our shop. A variety of catering options are also available from our award-winning Tea Shop.

Exciting events and exhibitions showcase paintings, sculptures, architecture and pottery, continuing the Wattses’ legacy of Art for All.

HELEN ALLINGHAMNovember 2017 - February 2018

The Artists’ Village will hold a major exhibition dedicated to the life and work of the artist Helen Allingham RWS (1848-1926). Allingham is one of the most familiar and well-loved of Victorian artists. Yet despite this strong reputation, and the praise of her work by contemporary critics such as John Ruskin, the public understanding of Allingham remains restricted. We will be showing landscapes, architectural scenes, garden studies and portraits – in addition to examples of her early work as a book illustrator and as a graphic artist for the leading periodicals of the day.
