Dear Friends
and Family
Thank
you once again for
your
excellent support
during
April. Your
contributions reflect
an
ongoing
faith an d
partnership
with
Tim
an d
Twyla
Bright in West
Africa. As leaders are being
trained the church
continues to
grow.
Ghana
Christian College is playing a dynamic role
in that
growth by
providing a forum for learning experiences. Thank you so much for making all
of
this possible.
COLLEGE
N E W S
V
Third
Term is underway. Registration was held April 29 and classes began
April 30. Tim is teaching
three
sections ofActs for six weeks
this
Term.
That
means he
is
teaching several
sessions
per
day.
V Overseas Coxmcil
International
representatives
plan
to visit
the
College
the latter part ofMay. They will conduct a chapel assembly consisting of
questions
and
answers from faculty and students. Afterwards a tea will be
held
so that
more
interaction can
informally take
place.
They
will be given
a tour
of
educational facilities
that
ar e
being
built
on the new campus.
Please pray for this very important visit . OCI has the potential of helping
to financially provide resources
that
will greatly enhance
the
advancement of
constructing
th e
new campus.
V
Spiritual
Awareness Week will come up in June. A professor working
with
Seminary of
the
Nations
plans
to
share in that
week. S.O.N visits 20 30
foreign countries each year equipping
and
encouraging leadership training for
Christian
service
around th e
world. GCCS is
proud
to
have these qualified
personnel to come and challenge both
students and
faculty alike in spiritual
growth.
C H UR C H N E WS

Enthusiasm
spills over
in the
churches following
the
record Nationsil
Convention. Many churches
are
reporting growth in attendance
and
lively
services. Tim
and
Twyla recently visited Faithway Christian Church an
urban
church planting project that Tim
has
worked with in

V Recenttravel. Tim and a student Gideon
Morgan
traveled to a district
capital
town
of
Akatsi.
The church
was
planted there some six years ago by
people from
a neighboring church and with the help of
some other
missionaries.
However
a leadership vacuum developed over the ensuing years
because ofmany different kinds ofcircumstances. Tim was asked
by
some of
their remaining
members
to
help
them. April 27 28 Tim showed theJesus film
and
preached
on
Sunday morning. Five were baptized on
Sunday
following
churches services. Mr.
Morgan
an olderstudent in his 50 s has
decided
to
enter into the ministry and he is helpingthe churchon weekends.

The College has changed it name.
The
new name is now
Ghana
Christian University. This
means that the institution has full university status. For thirty-five years GCU has been granting
its own the degrees. The only field
of
study has been in theology and related courses in pastoral
ministry. However, that is now changing. The Universitynow has a schoolof Theological
studies and pastoral ministries, and is developing an undergraduate program with the School
of
Community Development. This will consist of the training
of
NGO management on the national
level as well as instituting an emergency medical training center. GCU is also preparing to
develop a graduate school offering a Masters Degree in leadership. The days are indeed bright
