2012’• ‘Road user charges (external costs) for heavy goods vehicles (HGV)’• ‘End-user emissions from energy: Reallocation of emissions from energy industries

to end-users 2005-2010’• ‘The contribution of transport to air quality - TERM 2012: Transport indicators

tracking progress towards environmental targets in Europe’• ‘Air quality in Europe — 2012 report’• ‘EEA Signals 2013 – Every breath we take’

Planned publications

• ‘Annual NEC Directive status report’ (mid-late May)• ‘Annual EU emission inventory report under the LRTAP Convention’ (July)• ‘EMEP/EEA Air pollutant emission inventory guidebook’ (mid-year)

• ‘Potential reduction of emissions from Europe’s LCPs’ (June)• ‘A retrospective of predicting the future - projections in hindsight’ (Dec)• ‘Revealing the costs of air pollution from industrial facilities in Europe – an

update’ (mid-year)

• EU Greenhouse Gas Inventory to UNFCCC 1990-2011’ (end May)• Tracking progress towards Europe’s GHG targets’ (Oct)• Proxy EU GHG inventory: 2012 estimates’ (Oct)• ‘Data reporting on fluorinated gases’ (Sept)• ‘Data reporting on ozone depleting substances’ (Dec)

Publications – Annual NECD status report 2012

• Describes the ‘final’ 2010 and ‘provisional’ 2011 emissions data reported at end of 2012

• Scheduled for publishing mid-late May

14th Joint EIONET and TFEIP meeting, Istanbul, 14-15 May, 2013

Publications – Annual NECD status report 2012

• 12 MS missed NECD ceilings in 2010; – 7 continued to breach ceilings in 2011

• Germany was the only MS to exceed three of four emission ceilings under the directive in both 2010 and 2011

• Many MS reported ‘NE’s in their inventories. For several MS, a simple estimate of the missing ‘NE’ emission changes their status relative to ceilings:— 2011: Denmark (for NOX

and NH3), the Netherlands (NOX), Portugal (NMVOC) and Slovenia (NOX).

— 2010: Portugal (NMVOC) and Slovenia (NOX).

Country

Notes: • Emission data for Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are the latest reported data under the LRTAP

Convention and are compared with the emission ceilings of the Gothenburg Protocol. • Liechtenstein has signed but not yet ratified the protocol. • Of the remaining EEA member countries, neither Iceland nor Turkey has yet signed the Gothenburg Protocol.

Questionnaire for EIONET participants

• EEA now regularly undertakes evaluations of all EIONET-related workshops.

• The main objective is to receive feedback to help strengthen the EEA – Eionet cooperation and improve the effectiveness of the network
