1.3CommunityHealthProgrammeBIRDS community Health program carried out regular monthly meetings on healthconditionof the child andpregnantwomen,deliverywomen, Immunization, SeasonaldiseasesandpersonalHygiene.35communityhealthworkerscovered58villagesin4clustersofAllagadda,Chagalamari,MuthyalapaduandRudravaram.3 supervisorsCo‐ordinate’sthisprogram.CommunityHealthWorkershavebeentrainedintheirregularmonthlymeetingonthehealthissues.TheCommunityHealthWorkersarehavinggoodrelationwiththevillagersreferringpatientsto theBIRDSDORISHospitalandShanthiRamMultiSuperSpecialHospitalNandyal.Enrollingthepregnantwomenfromtimetotime giving awareness on health with village ANM’s and with Integrated ChildDevelopmentSchemeworkersarecaringonchildrenimmunization.Awareness on the health and Nutrition food regular meetings conducted withentertainmentprograms.Inadditiontothiswork35CHWhastakenstepsinimprovingtheknowledgeinhealtheducationandcleanandGreen.OnDecember8thweconductedWorldWidow’sDayonoccasionalDrHannaBirthdayon8thDecember2018,celebratedatMuthyalapadu.InthisprogramwehavedistributedBlanketsandSareesforrural102widows. 1.5 BIRDSFarmatMuthayalapaduCrops: during the year 2018, organic farming has given very good yields which arecompletelyusingforchildrenboardinghomesandtrainingcentre.Inthisyearlessrainfallsothatthecropisverylow.We  are  very  happy  to  announce  that  the  farming  has  given  very  good  yields which  are completely  used  for  dining  hall.  Redgram‐2000Kg,  Foxtail‐1700kg,  Black  gram‐500kg, sorghum‐500kg,  Tomato‐375kg,  Ladies  Finger‐210kg,  Brimjal‐220kg,  Green  chilly‐54kg, Cluster  Beans‐180kg,  Spinach74Bunches,  Sour  Spinach‐400Bunches  and  Coriander‐52Bunches.

VermiCompost:Weare produced 3010 kgs fromvermin compost in the year of 2018 and utilized toagriculturalandgardening.Weareencouragedfertilizers.

With the funding from Human Dignity Foundation and with PlanInternationalinIndiaChapter,thisprojectisbeingimplementedintwostatesinthreedistricts. 1. Kurnool, and 2. Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh and 3. Mahabubnagar ofTelalngana.Bytheendoftheprojecttenure5thyearwehadworkedinfourdistrictsasMahabubnagar was re‐organized 1. Mahabubnagar, 2.Wanaparthy, 3. Nagar Kurnooland4.Gadwal.

This is fiveyearprojectwithexcellentdrivengoalsscheduled for fiveyears.ThiswasinauguratedonfromJune2013andservedinthethreedistrictstill2018July.Wehaveworked 160 hotspots or communities in each district during these five years. In thisProjectwehavebeenworkingwiththreeCategories.DirectBeneficiaries(Children)andIndirect Beneficiaries (Duty Bearers, and CommunityMembers) and Special Category(OutofSchoolChildren).TheDirectBeneficiaryarechildrenwhoaregiven improvedprotection,PreventionandProsecutionServices.ChildrenwillberescuedintotwowaysHardRescue‐ChildrenwhowererescuedbyPolice,labour,ChildLine,ICPS,NGOsandCSOs,(thepartnerswhoparticipateintherescueofthechildreniscalledthetaskforce.

SocialAccountabilityforEveryAdolescentBIRDS – UNICEF Project, Yuva Shakthi Social Accountability for Every Adolescentprogramme was started on 19 April 2017 at Mahabubnagar along with 4 DistrictMahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Jogulamba andWanaparthy in Telangana state in 650villages. AdministrationsandPartnerNGOsareShramikaVikasaKendram,SocietyofHELP, Indhira Priyadharshini Women Welfare Society, ECO CLUB, TOUCH, CONARE,AMMA women welfare Society and DIVYA DISHA. The programme seeks to engageadolescents (10‐19 years) in order to increase their control over decisions affectingtheirhealth,education,work,marriageandtopromotetheircivicengagementintheircommunitiesandinsociety.Theprojectgoalistoengageadolescentssoastoincreasetheircontroloverdecisionsaffectingtheirhealth,education,work,marriageandtopromotetheircivicengagementintheircommunitiesandinsocietyLot of activities initiated part of the Yuvashakthi project to increase adolescentsparticipation and to promotion of health, Nutrition and education etc. of variousaspects.Organized the strengtheningofVillageLevelChildProtectionCommittees ‐VCPCsmembers (15committeemembers)atMandal level in72Mandals.TheMandalLevel

BIRDS‐PLAN, FICCI supported School Sanitation projectwas started its operations inthemonthofMarch’2017inChittoorDistrict,AndhraPradesh.Thefocusoftheprojectis improvingWASH facilities in 200 Government Schools (Primary, Middle and HighSchools)covering28MandalsinChittoorDistrict.TheschoolWASHprojectisbasicallya BCC project which includes activities for children, Strengthening of SchoolManagement Committees, Orientation to Teachers, Hygiene promotion activities andinvolvementofallrelatedstakeholdersinmaintenanceofWASHfacilitiesinschools.

PlanIndiaincollaborationwithitspartnerorganisationshasbeenimplementingachildlabourprojecttitled“CombatingChildDomesticLabour”inmostvulnerable.TheprojecthasbeenoperationalfromOct2016BIRDSPlanIndiainSrikakulamDistrict.Withthesupport of Plan Japan. Theproject aims to address the root causes ofworst formsofchildlabourthrougheducationalrehabilitationofchildrenandeconomicempowermentof families of children. During the first phase, one Farmer ProducerOrganizations(FPO)wasregisteredinstateofAndhraPradesh.

SecondphaseofFRB2018‐2020Budget approvals and release of grant was received in August 2018. Survey andidentification of farmers and formation of small farmer groups completed andorientation and trainings as per the plan were also implemented. Trainings aroundsustainableagricultureandsafefoodwereorganized.

NewinitiativetostrengthentheFPO,topromotemillets, toestablishmarket linkages.Millet Processing unit is being established with Ahobilah FPO which can benefitchethana farmers and also other neighboring farmers who wish to take the path oforganicagriculturefollowingchethanafarmers.

Ahobila Rythu Uthpathidarula Sangam Producer Company Ltd is a farmer institutionregistered under company act 2013 headquarters at Survey no 307, MuthyalapaduVillage Chagalamarri Mandal Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. This farmerinstitutionregisteredintheyearof2016withthesupportofBharathiIntegratedRuralDevelopment Society (BIRDS) under FAO project called “Ground Water GovernancethroughPanchayatRajInstitutions‐GwGPRI”.Asthesupportingorganization.i.e.BIRDShas been working with the farmers since its inception and created massive positiveimpactatcommunityleadactivities.Andthesemanyyearsofexperiencewithfarmersresulted in forming an FPO which could be better solution to address few majorconcernsof farminginnearfuture.AhobilaFPOhasbeenperformingwellbetterthanthe anticipated thinking while forming. Now FPO has 700 farmer members asshareholdersandmobilisedRs7lakhsassharecapitalfromfarmersacrosstenvillagesin Chagalamarri and Allagadda Mandals of Kurnool District. It has been linked withNational Seeds Corporation Ltd for jute and black gram seed production program,Kharif‐2017, benefitted 50 farmers with directing marketing facilitation. Directingmarketing facilitationdonebyeven inMaizeduringRabi2017benefitted20 farmers.Through direct market linkages with institutions like NSCL and other privateorganizations, proved farmers income raisedup to25%as comparedwithmarketingtheir produce under normal conditions. Ahobila FPO posses all kinds of licenses likeSeed, fertilizer, pesticide andmarketing licences as like any new FPO should possesswhichisdecidedworkinAgriculturesector.Itownsaninputshopandsuppliedinputsto its farmer members at very minimal margins in coordination with IFFCO and APMAKFED,totalfarmersbenefittedare120.IthasbeenobeyingthelegalitiesofbeinganFPO, it files GST everythingmonth, conducts BoDmeeting once in everymonth in acalendar year, filed ROC. FPO has progressed a lot during last two years in terms ofcollectivedemandandsupply,marketlinkagesandithappenstodoalltheseactivitiesinveryminimaltimeofestablishmentofanFPOjustduetoanactiveinvolvementandcommitment of BoDs, farmer members and its supporting organization extensivecommitment.FarmermembersintheFPOarewellawareoftheconceptoftheFPOandaccepted and supported in all activitiesunder takenbyFPO.EvenBoardofDirectorsworkedhardtoimplementineachandeveryFPOactivity.FPOChairmanMr.G.V.KondaReddyandDirectorT.PullaiahareshowinganextensivecommitmentinsustainingtheFPOfurther.

It is the mission, duty and purpose of BIRDS ‐ SHELTER to empower marginalizedwidowsandabandonedwomeninruralAndhraPradesh,India.BIRDS‐SHELTERaimsto achieve this goal through education, advocacy, and promotion of safe andsecureemploymentfortheseat‐riskwomen.

ProjectPurposeandGoals:The goal of the Sanitary Napkin Project (SNP) is to provide a safe and respectfulworkplace for widows in a social business that will benefit women and girls in theareabyprovidingthemwithaffordablesanitarynapkins.BIRDSwiththehelpofSHELTERInternationalstartedSanitaryNapkinProjecton26thJuly2014atMythayalapaducampus.

CurrentActivities:During thereportingyear,allabout theSanitaryNapkinProjectasworkeddoneverywell in 2018. BIRDS SNP manufacturing high quality handmade sanitary napkins,models like‐supersoftultrathin,mediumsizeultrathin,adultpads,cottonpads.NowBIRDS SNP is also started to supply of sanitary napkin raw materials to AP andTelanganatowhoaresomeofSHGgrouprelatedSNP's.

During the year manufactured 5950 packets Napkins and 2677 packets sold 397packets distribute free of cost in BIRDS Schools and some sample distribute inMahabubnagar.RevenueofRs.53,440/‐fromnapkinsarewithusandweareusingthatmoneyformaintenanceofmachine,transportationofmaterialandmarketingexpenses.

AndhraPradeshFarmersManagedGroundWaterSystem(APFaMGS)ProjectBIRDS implemented APFaMGS Project in Andhra Pradesh during 2003 – 2009 in thefieldareasof9PNGOsspreadamong7districts,namelyKurnool,Kadapa,Ananthapur,Chittoor,Prakasam,NalgondaandMahaboobNagar.AfterthecompletionoftheprojectalsotheconceptofPHMandCropWaterBudgetingiscontinuinginthefieldareasoftheentire partner NGOs of BIRDS. Major contribution in this regard is from HUNcommitteesalongwiththeNGOssupporttowardstheanalysisanddocumentationpart.Data of the static & pumping water levels, discharge, rain fall occurred, rechargecalculated from secondary sources like tanks, Kuntas, Checkdams, farm ponds arecollectedinalltheareas.

StrategicPilotonAdaptationtoClimateChange(SPACC)Project:BIRDSimplementedSPACCProjectinAndhraPradeshandduringDec2010–June2014in the field areas of 9 PNGOs spread among 7 districts, namely Kurnool, Kadapa,Ananthapur, Chittoor, Prakasam, Nalgonda and Mahaboob Nagar. The developmentobjective of the SPACC project is to strengthen the knowledge and capacities ofcommunitiestorespondtoclimatevariabilityandchangeimpactsinpilothydrologicalunits(HUs)insevendrought‐pronedistrictsofAndhraPradesh.

GroundwaterGovernancethroughPanchayatRajInstitutionsinAndhraPradesh(GwGPRI‐AP)BIRDS implemented GwGPRI Project in Andhra Pradesh and during Oct 2015 – Dec2016inthefieldareasof7PNGOsspreadamong5districts,namelyKurnool,Kadapa,Ananthapur,ChittoorandPrakasam.Thepilotproject’sdurationisoneyear.Theprojecthas three major components. The first focuses on revitalizing the GMCs and HUNsformedunderAPFAMGSin518villagesofthefivedistricts.Itisexpectedthatthepilotinitiativewilldevelopamodelforupscalingtheprojecttocoverallareasinthesefivedistricts.
