BRIEF 2:: URBAN TEASE

URBAN TEASE

The following designs have derived from designs I produced for a live Republic t-shirt design competition I entered in July, they will now branded under the ‘Urban Tease’ t-shirt range.

The t-shirt designs are based on current fashion trends and are 100% cotton fabric t-shirts. Not all the designs are simply printed onto the t-shirts; I have intention-ally utilised different fabric choices, embroidering and detailed finishes in order to make each t-shirt distinctive and differentiate my range from what is already avail-able on the market.

The inner label is also printed onto 100% cotton fabric and stitched into the inside of the t-shirt. This label identifies the size of the t-shirt.

URBAN TEASE

The t-shirt packaging is designed to simulate footwear packaging as a ‘tease’ to the recipient. This clever design allows the product to be both packaged and trans-ported in one solution.

The outer sleeve is 100gsm gloss white stock. The logo is die cut into the outer sleeve of the packaging design in order to create the colour of the logo, again cor-responding to the type of t-shirt being packaged (mens, womens or childrens).

The inner casing is printed in one of the three spot colours depending on the product being packaged (mens, womens or childrens clothing).

The toggle handles also follow this same colour coding system.

The swing ticket is also printed to follow the same principle, with the logo being die cut out of the upper fold in order to reveal the colour of inner label through the type. It is duplex printed; the outside of the label is the same 100 gsm gloss white stock as the outer packaging, the inside of the ticket is printed a spot colour using the colour coding system according to what product is being labelled (mens, womens or childrens clothing). Displayed inside the swing ticket is the price and size for the customers reference and a barcode for the stores refer-ence. Containing this information inside the swing ticket enables the appearance to be clean and fresh from the exterior; continuing the design principles on from the packaging. The swing ticket is then attached to the product using a 1mm black chord.

BRIEF 2:: URBAN TEASE

URBAN TEASE

‘Urban Tease’ will be delivered through to the consumer via an on-line presence and in clothing stores as an independent brand.

The ‘Urban Tease’ website design will follow on from the packaging and labels, it will use the same colour coding system to distinguish between the men, women and childrens clothing.

This design will then be translated through to tablet and app designs.

The in-store presentation will also capitalise on the colour coding system. An array of t-shirt designs will be presented on a wall, col-oured one of the three colours, beneath the logo. These t-shirts can then be found for purchase in the square holes to the side of this. Each cubed hole will be lit by coloured halogen lighting, using the colour coding system; customers can then easily locate the tshirt they desire.

I also sold these t-shirt designs at the recent inpress design event at Dock Street Market over the weekend of 30th November 2012.
