TOWN OF BRIDGEWATERPUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED PUBLIC FINANCINGPlease take notice that on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Bridgewater Community Center, 201 Green Street, Bridgewater, Virginia, the Bridgewa-ter Town Council will receive public comment on the issuance of a bond in the estimated maximum amount of $1,397,000. These funds will be used for the following projects:
• The construction of improvements to Dry River Road between Old River Road and Cannery Woods Drive that will include a sidewalk on the west side, bicycle lanes on both sides, and drainage improvements that include new curb, guttering and repaving. This project is a “revenue sharing” project with VDOT, and the Town will be responsible for 50% of the cost.• The construction of Phase I of the Riverwalk project, a walking path about 1,000 feet in length which will run roughly parallel to the North River and connect Bridgeview Park, Seven Bridges Park, and Edgebriar Park. This project has been funded through an HSIP grant administered by VDOT, but if construction bids exceed the amount of the grant, borrowed funds would be used for the excess. • The undergrounding of approximately 1,000 feet of overhead utilities on Main Street between Mount Crawford Avenue and Green Street.
