Important information about Chateau life: The chateau owners cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen items that belong to visitors. Other than the pre-agreed resident guests, there are no other people allowed to stay on-site, either in the chateau bedrooms, in the salons or camping in the grounds. Please do remember that Chateau de Lartigolle is an historic monument and our home. Please treat it with respect and please ask your guests to do the same. Due to the age of the building and the nature of the grounds we can not fully protect all guests from injury at all times, especially if guests have been drinking. By agreeing to hold your event here you must ensure all your guests are aware that they are responsible for their own behavior and safety. The chateau kitchen is a professional space and as such, under the health and safety laws of France, guests are not allowed to access the kitchen at any time.

For safety, the swimming pool will be closed at sunset and swimming is absolutely forbidden after this time. No glass is allowed by the pool area at any time. Please ensure your guests are aware of all these rules. Please also note that whilst we welcome children there is a limit to the number that we are comfortable having on site for a wedding. The property is old full of precious antiques and the grounds are not particularly child friendly, there are also limits to child care that we can offer. We don't have an absolute limit but if you think there is likely to be more than 10 then we would like to have the chance to discuss the options with you as soon as possible.

Children should not be left unattended in any part of the chateau, the grounds and especially by the swimming pool. Please note that it is not possible to have evening events on days outside of the pre-agreed wedding event dates. We have negotiated the days and times of all events with our mayor and the local community. This is due to complaints from neighbours relating to noise and therefore must be enforced by us to ensure we can continue to hold events here. Any loud music on the wedding day must end no later than 01h30. On any other days it must end at 23h00. We hope you understand our position with all of these issues and, by agreeing to hold your wedding at Lartigolle, understand that you are agreeing to abide by these rules.

Bride and Groom 20 August 2016 - Page 12

Location: Grand Salon or courtyard BBQ Guest arrival 1.00pm and 2.00pm service Table set-up: We would normally arrange two or three long rows of tables and use a mixture of coloured check tablecloths and wedding flowers. We want to make it look and feel different to the wedding day as well as it feeling a little more relaxed. TABLES MUST NOW BE SET UP WITH WHITE CLOTHS AND BROWN PAPER RUNNERS - LARTIGOLLE TO CHECK WE HAVE ENOUGH Note - we have tried to get white table cloths for Sunday bbq to use with the brown paper roll but the hire company do not have any further cloths available (other than those we have ordered for the Saturday). Are you happy for us to use green checked cloths (quite subtle) under the brown paper? There are really just to hide the legs of the tables. Tables should have jugs of water, plastic water glasses, salts and peppers, napkins. We will supply very good quality recycled paper plates and plastic cutlery for the BBQ. This saves on the budget as there is no hire and washing costs, and promotes a more relaxed mood to the day, which we think is important. We will use the lace tablecloth - already at Lartigolle, drying off after the wine disaster!!! Note to Emma - this will be stored in the left hand cupboard in the office on top of the wedding supplies crates

long weekend we prefer not to cater in-house so need to organise catering for you. Being a Sunday there will be very little open around here so we will need to plan and agree any catering in advance. Time: 7.30 ish Location: COURTYARD - crepe van Serving time: 8.00 Guest numbers: You have confirmed the final number as 50 THE CREPE VAN Over the years we have found the best option for a large group to offer up to 2 savoury galettes per person from a choice of 3 flavours from their menus and unlimited sweet crepes to follow, from the menu below. For this the charge is 22 Euros per person so you will need at least 25 people to exceed the minimum. Coffee and Cider are charged as extra. There is no length of time, the minimum spend is to allow them to be here for the whole night, they will leave once everyone has eaten. The minimum spend is 550 Euros SAVOURY crepes: Mozarella and tomato Jambon fromage Goats cheese, onion and salad SWEET: All will be available sucre ou sucre cannelle sucre citron compote de pommes confitures chocolat fait maison Menu: new crepe menu - 22 Euros per head Bar to serve: YOU WILL CHANGE TO A PAY BAR IN THE EVENING (from 4pm) • House wine • Draft beers • Soft drinks, mixers and juice Finish time: PLEASE NOTE - Sunday finish times Whilst we don’t have strict guidelines for finishing times we do have to consider our neighbours peace and keep noise to a minimum where we can, especially in the peak season where we often have weddings each weekend. On Sundays we need to be particularly considerate and have promised our neighbours that any loud music will have stopped by 11pm. This is always a very difficult thing for us to inforce so we do need you to support us and understand that we have to stick to these times in order to maintain our good relations with the community and to allow us to continue to hold wonderful events here.

Notes Bad weather alternative:

13

Bride and Groom 20 August 2016 - Page 14

Flowers - Happy for these to be a loose interpretation of the below, lots of greenery + wild flowers, not too perfect 1. bouquet for me + 3 bridesmaids 2. wood + greenery ring for flower girl to carry (like bottom right pic) 3. button holes for 11 boys, sorry! (groom, father of bride, father of groom, 2 best men + 6 ushers) 4. flower crown for me made from wild flowers (let me know what you need from me to create this if this is possible) 5. I have tried so hard to find jugs like the top right pic without success, if you happen to have any please let me know, no biggy if not I am so sorry but I don’t have any pots that look like the ones in the picture - I do have a couple of yellow/cream terracotta numbers but they are probably not going to cut the mustard!

Table top styling - 1. white table cloths 2. wooden handled + vintage silver cutlery (provided by me - starter knife + fork, mains knife + fork + dessert spoon) 3. flip top water bottles 4. I have lots of stone sand glazed big jars as shown in top left pic, not sure whether to use these or just have greenery down the centre, maybe they can be in the mix 5. bouquet garni for each place 6. menu + name cards (provided by me) 7. candles as favours (I have made all of these + they look just the same as candles shown below) these will now be displayed on the table plan work bench (this is Chris’ workbench from the stables).

14

Bride and Groom 20 August 2016 - Page 15

8. tall pillar candles (without holders) dotted down table centre 9. table name cards + table plan (provided by me) All fine with the above - love idea of using some of your big stone pots mixed in with the free-standing candles and trailing greenery/leaves/herbs

Ceremony styling 1. we discussed previously some kind of wooden structure like the below, is this possible? Not a problem if not, but pics below to show the vibe if it is 2. wood + greenery rings to hang from trees/chairs, additional greenery/flowers on chairs? (let me know thoughts) 3. order of service (provided by me) 4. singalong (unsure on this yet, we might do Bob Marley, One Love, if we do this the singalong card provided by me + our friend on guitar would accompany)

All sounds fab and very do-able but there is an issue with the wooden frame. We do have a more formal structure in place now - see picture attached - this can be dressed in any way that you like - this week with olive and eucalyptus garlands (sorry I didn’t have the chance to take a picture) and hessian/sack drapes. Sadly, its quite a permanent fixture at the moment as its driven into the ground. We could however, do a fab natural structure somewhere else in the pasture? You don’t have to stick to the front area???? I do agree with your comment that it could look weird to have another structure in a different part of the grounds. I am sorry that we can’t remove ours - it is firmly planted in the ground and needs to be there for our later weddings in the year. Let’s see what we can do - I’m sure we can RUSTIC IT UP A BIT! Maybe we could create some very natural garlands on Friday morning and trail these to disguise the more formal look - if we were to create overhead garlands as well to negate the need for the sail cloth cover.

15

Bride and Groom 20 August 2016 - Page 16

Cave 1. Just lots of greenery! Hanging bunches of bay etc 2. We are going to make a big canvas sign to hang 3. If white table cloths are used at any stage if they could just have greenery trailing them that would be perfect 4. Unsure whether to just have beer + bubbles in the cave, I will send you a separate email to finalise drinks throughout the day All fab - no problem

If I make something like the below to bring + hang for the cheese table is there anywhere it could potentially hang in/outside the cave? Down the wall maybe. I might be making things too difficult, but let me know. Love it - we’ll deffo find somewhere for it - maybe hang it under the bridge at the entrance to the cave? Now no cheese table - no room to bring.

Photos 1. Unsure if we will use the car for this 2. What we will definitely do is have a polaroid camera, like the one shown below, perhaps simply just hanging from a nail in a tree (if that's allowed?) and I've made cards that say 'remember this' for people to write words of wisdom or a memory on. 3. Not sure if we will have this on the courtyard or styled up by the post ceremony/reception drinks bit Great - probably best to have this somewhere on the back terrace as people will be more inclined (and less drunk!) to do something at this point in the day. We can work something out when you’re here but I do have a knackered old work bench we could use for the table.

Bride and Groom 20 August 2016 - Page 17

Hoping to also make additional pennant signage on canvas (if I have time) to hang in various places throughout the day The following day I will bring the below with me to use on the brown paper on tables (I'm not expecting any big fuss for this at all, just greenery from the previous day shoved in the jars) perhaps some food or salads on the boards - I think that covers the bulk of things! My only other thing is what to do for the bar for reception + post dinner drinks. Did you source 2 barrels with a board in the end? Also found the below pic + didn't know if this was an option to create for the gin bar out of crates with the gin bottles shown at the front. Again, I really don't have big expectations for the bar, if it's a white table cloth if we could just style with trailing greenery and my stoneware pots that will also work for me.

17

Bride and Groom 20 August 2016 - Page 18

We have managed to find a couple of fabulous old barrels and one which is perfect for one end of the bar - just waiting to get another one and then possibly an old door or similar. I also really like the idea of the crates - is this something you have and could bring down - we have a couple but they are sadly not like these and we only have two!! If you have them in stock it would be be fabulous. We can sit this on a bar behind the barrel bar to create more interest at at the back - which will need to be a fairly standard white cloth bar - under which we can hide all of the shite!!! YOU WOULD ALSO LIKE US TO FIND AN OLD SHELVING UNIT FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES. The styling for your wedding weekend

Scabiosa (white) - yes, love Astilbe in dusty pink - not sure about these Sage - yes Rosemary - yes Olive - yes Bay - yes Reference the picture of rings of leaves - rough garlands - we will need to produce a lot of these and hang them on the backs of chairs along the aisle. We also need to produce larger ones and hanging bunches of greenery to hang from stone walls around the chateau. You would like to have a rough wooden canopy from which we will trail with the eucalyptus and olive with a few flowers intertwined - but nothing that looks too staged - no prize winning horse behaviour!!!!! Around the walls of the entrance to the cave and up the stone stairs - garlands and hanging bunches You will be bringing terracota pots down with you for the table arrangements. You would like to use the terracota jugs for the water and glass kilner bottles for the tables NO JUST GLASS KILNER BOTTLES

Childcare and babysitters We are able to provide some level of child care for children of Lartigolle residents but we have put in place a strict childcare policy that we must adhere to. The policy was put in place following a few difficult situations that have occurred over the past years. The problem has been each set of parents arrive with very different expectations. We don't have a full creche service and cannot take full responsibility for young children for long periods of time but we do have a few girls (and one mature lady) who are good with children and can certainly help out. The charge is 20 Euros per carer per hour and the policy is below, let me know if you have any questions. Lartigolle childcare policy After experiencing some very different expectations from parents wanting childcare for weddings at Lartigolle, we have decided to put into place the following guidelines to clarify the extent of childcare that we are able to provide. • We can only organise babysitters for children who are resident at the Lartigolle premises. Anyone with children off site will need to arrange care through their specific location - Lartigolle cannot take responsibility for this. • We require at least one child minder per 3 infants and we cannot exceed the limit of a maximum of 9 children under care in total. • Parents must give full written details about their child including a contact number and must acknowledge the hours that have been agreed with the childminder. The hours must be kept to. • The parents of all children under 2 must be responsible for all feeds and bottles. Lartigolle are happy to prepare food for children of 2 and over but only if confirmed in advance and any specific food requirements must be made known to us one week before the wedding date.
