The AcademyBrewster Academy is an independent, co-educational secondary school for grades 9–12 with a rich history of almost two centuries of academic excellence and achievement. Today, we continue to prepare students for exceptional futures through vigorous college preparatory classes in a dynamic, highly personalized, technology-rich learning environment.

The CampusThe Academy is located on 80 acres with classic New England buildings and six beautiful and well-used athletic fields, all along a visually spectacular half-mile shoreline of Lake Winnipesaukee in downtown Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, “the oldest summer resort in America.”

The StudentsBrewster students come from across the nation and around the world. But there are some things they have in common. Integrity. Respect for others. A positive attitude towards learning. And once they’re here, they form a diverse, yet close-knit community and develop friendships that last long after they graduate from Brewster. Brewster’s unique recognition system—which recognizes and rewards students for leading responsible lives—also plays a critical role in creating an environment of equal opportunity and mutual encouragement.

FacultyOur faculty is comprised of more than 60 highly qualified, dedicated teachers who are passionate about mentoring their students and enabling them to succeed. And whether it’s seeking regular feedback from students in class or attending the annual Brewster Summer Institute (BSI) training program, they hold themselves to the same high standards they set for their students. Most of them also interact with students as athletic coaches and dorm parents. Brewster’s student/teacher ratio is 6:1.

AthleticsWith premier New England championship teams, a strong record of college athletic placements, and more than 30 programs of interscholastic, recreational, and instructional sports, Brewster is an athletically active campus. Our unparalleled athletic facilities include the Pinckney Boathouse, the Smith Center for Athletics and Wellness, indoor and outdoor synthetic turf fields, nine tennis courts, and an indoor rowing tank.

ActivitiesWith more than 25 student clubs, and the spectacular range of outdoor possibilities offered by Wolfeboro, it’s difficult not to get involved at Brewster. Students may also choose from an exciting range of student leadership and community service opportunities.

The ArtsBrewster Academy offers traditional courses to the latest in digital arts, enrichment activities in the afternoon, advanced courses in the visual and performing arts, private instruction in voice and instrumental music, and seasonal theatre productions.

Financial AidBrewster Academy provides financial assistance to families who demonstrate need and would not otherwise have an opportunity to benefit from and contribute to our community. Awards are made on the basis of need, academic achievement, scholastic ability, the qualities of leadership and citizenship, and availability of funds.
