Important Equine Health InformationIt is recommended that all horses stabling on the PBIEC grounds arrive between 8:00 am and 5:00 PM. If it is necessary to arrive at any other time you must make arrangements with the show office prior to arrival. 561-793-5867. SFHJA & ESP, LLC management strives to provide an excellent showing environment. An integral part of an excellent showing environment includes healthy horses. Exhibitors, especially those traveling long distances, can contribute to that healthy environment by following some basic recommendations listed below. Please monitor our web site at www.equestriansport.com for any additional and possibly mandatory requirements.1) Statement of Health (on Veternarian’s letterhead) must be signed and dated by Veterinarian within 7 days of arriving at the Facility. Must list horse’s show name and date EHV 1&4 was last given. Multiple horses maybe listed on 1 page.2) A current negative coggins test. Please renew before it expires, and not just before it is necessary to leave the state. It is strongly recommended that all horses be vaccinated for Equine EHV-1 (either modified live or killed vaccine) no sooner than 7 days prior and no later than 120 days prior to entering the show grounds. Most EHV-1 vaccines are only considered effective for 120 days. Check with your veterinarian about which vaccine you use.3) Statement of Health must be signed by a licensed veterinarian within 7 days of first arrival at PBIEC, documenting that the horse has: a. Received regular and consistent vaccination against Equine Influenza and EHV 1 & 4 with most recent booster being within 120 days and not within 7 days. Written statements from Vet explaining reasons for being boostered within 180 days MAY be accepted. IN NO CASES MAY THE BOOSTER BE WITHIN 7 DAYS OR OUTSIDE OF 180 DAYS. b. Not shown symptoms of or been treated for EHV-4/1 within the past 28 days. c. Not been at a facility under quarantine for EHV-4/1 or exposed to any horses showing symptoms of EHV-4/1 within the past 28 days4) Current vaccination against WNV, EEE, WEE, Tetanus and Rabies is strongly recommended.5) You should be able to document your horses normal temperature before arrival. Please do not ship horses with elevated tem-peratures. It is recommended that you establish a log of temperatures taken at least twice daily. If there is an elevated tempera-ture for more than a 24 hour period, please consult your local Veterinarian immediately.6) Every effort should be made to minimize stress and commingling of horses shipped long distances. Extra hours on a horse van, or moving from stable to stable is the fastest way to compromise your horses’ and your neighbors horses’ health.7) Any horse on the show grounds with a fever of unknown origin or of suspicious origin must be reported to ESP, LLC Management. It is always better to err on the side safety. Isolation stalls will either be available on the grounds or at a local vet-erinary practice if the need arises.8) Please take the time to review equine good hygiene practices and impress its importance to your groom in everyday care.

Pure Thoughts Horse Rescue
Pure Thoughts Inc. is an all volunteer 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of horses, yearlings and foals that were bound for slaughter, victims of starvation, neglected, abandoned or abused. To date, Pure Thoughts has helped save over 1,700 horses.
Above: Hasty Red was rescued from a severe abuse case, yet he now has healed from his trauma lives a full, peaceful
life.
We've dedicated the past decade to helping change the life of
horse's lives who were bound for grave endings. Our work may not change the world, but it will make a difference in how animal welfare
is viewed and fought for in the future. Please help us continue this
fight against cruelty.
Above: Rain & Our Fever rescued from a feedlot in Louisiana this past May 2015. Both arrived extremely underweight, malnourished and having been abused. Months later, they are doing wonderfully, in great health and incredibly personable.
"The greatness of a nation and it's moral
progress, can be judged by the way it's animals
are treated.” - Mahatma Gandhi
Above: Every year we participate in our nurse mare foal rescue. These are foals that were born from a mare that
was bred for the sole purpose of providing milk to another, more expensive foal. The nurse mare's foal is no longer
needed after they are born; they're left orphaned and ultimately die. The foals above are a few from our 2013
mission.
We work hard to make sure each horse is given the proper care and so much love. Volunteers are the heart
and soul of this organization and without their continued and valued support, would not be able to
succeed in our rescue mission. Please consider coming out to meet the horses, volunteering, donating,
adopting or sponsoring a horse. We are grateful if you’re able to spread the word on ours and all animal
rescue efforts. www.pthr.org
