Origin of the Basin:
The Potiguar basin was formed after fracturing of the super-continent Gondwana, which resulted in a neocomain rift NE-SW,covered by neocretaceous and tertiary sediments.

Final Remarks
• The twenty offered exploratory blocks are very interesting due to its proximity from the Fazenda Belém Field.
• The Fazenda Belém Field has been producing since june of 1980, and yields presently about 1,905 barrels of oil per day (14º API) in shallow wells from 300 to 500 meters depth.
• ANP estimates that the twenty offered blocks could have a potential reserves around 15 MM barrels of oil similar to theFazenda Belém accumulation.
