The modem sends signals over phone lines and converts them from analog signals to digital signals.
The computer is able to process and read the information.

The reason I chose these connection medias are because I feel that they are bring different aspect into my home network.

SUMMARY OF COST/SPEED
The estimated cost of my home network would be $1500.
This amount includes the monthly fee of the modem and DSL service.
The speed of my home network will be approximately 4GBs and the hard drive will be approximately 1 TB.
