Utility relocation In preparation for construction, Main Roads is relocating the existing underground utilities during December and January, with minor impacts to road users.

Construction works Construction work will commence in February 2021 and take approximately three months to complete. Click on the video below to find out more about improvements Main Roads are making.

Benefits Improve safety to reduce the likelihood and

severity of crashes; Improve traffic flow during peak travel

periods; Left turning lane into Barrett will allow clearer

visibility for turning traffic; Intersection widening will improve safety of

truck movements from Barrett Drive onto Brand Highway;

The relocation of the merge point past Lockyer Road will provide safer turning movements into and out of Barrett Drive; and

New median and island treatments to separate traffic.

Impact to road users To ensure the safety of workers and road users, from February 2021 until project completion, Barrett Drive will be closed with detours in place.

There will also be some minor impacts to road users on Brand Highway and those accessing Lockyer Road, with some periodic road or lane closures.
