experience the same thing that I have. We are able to help support each other in this new journey to Canada and without ORAT, I do not know where I would be today. It is possible I would still be in Jordan, afraid for my life, unable to practice my religion, and under threat of deportation. The work that ORAT did truly gave me hope and a chance at life free from prosecution and fear. ORAT has also invited me to volunteer with them, and I am even able to sponsor a new person or family to come to Canada with their help.” ~ Sara, a Christian refugee from Iraq Since 2009, ShareLife-supported ORAT has sponsored over 2,500 families to be resettled in the GTA.

St. Joseph’s Parish, 5440 Durie Rd., Mississauga Lectio Divina ("divine, or sacred, reading") is the name given to a spiritual tradition among Christians over the last two thousand years. This form of prayer involves three distinct stages: a) reading a short scripture passage b) reflecting on the passage and c) a short period of silence. We begin with Vespers (Evening Prayer) at 7 p.m., followed by Lectio Divina from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. All are welcome to join Cardinal Collins for this special evening of prayer. Lectio Divina is recorded by Salt & Light Catholic Media for future broadcast. During the extensive renovations at St. Michael's Cathedral, Lectio Divina will be traveling to parishes around the archdiocese in 2015/2016.

A disastrous flood or earthquake strikes a nation at the other end of the world. Immediately many countries rush in food, medicine, blankets, money and trained personnel. Prominent amoung such aid is the finanical help offered by the Holy Father to the people in need. The annual Pope’s Pastoral Works collection make these funds available for distribution. In the name of Catholics everywhere, he displays Christ’s love and compassion for those who suffer.
