Career summary

July 2010 – Present

End User Services manager – New Zealand Post My current role is the end user services manager for all End user support services into New Zealand Post including selected Kiwibank services this is a very challenging and varied role given the complex nature and diversity of the environment. I’m currently responsible for a technical team of 13 that account for 80% of all end user’s services delivered to the client. Coming from a technical background has proved invaluable with both the client and my team when dealing with complex technical issues. The role also requires a high level of process, people management and Project skills all of which are critical to the role and something I’ve developed during my time in the position. I’ve lead the team through many challenges during my time all of which have had successful outcomes. The role has been a fantastic learning ground with new challenges being presented all the time. I would like to broaden my knowledge base outside of my current role. I’m ready for my next challenge where my leadership ability and technical knowledge will be put to use. Jan 1998 to July 2010

2008 - 2010 Desktop Senior System Matter Expert This was a senior SME role within Unisys; the primary focus is working on large and complex projects, across multiple engagements, in both the private and public sector. Due to my advanced knowledge of Desktop systems I have the capability to be involved in a project from its conception, scoping, design, build, implementation, and post implementation assessment. I have extensive experience working on BIDs in Australasia. Major achievements have been the DIA Australia, Vodafone New Zealand, the IRD engagement extension, MAF and NZFSA I had worked at Unisys since I arrived in New Zealand a role in which I had learnt some invaluable skills.

2006 - 2008 Desktop Manger Successfully managed a large desktop team. This was a multi-national team based in Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and India. The team composition varied depending on the size and complexity of the projects, ranging from between 15 – 26 people. A large part of this role was:

Achievements MAF- hardware replacement project – 2000 devices MAF- windows service pack 3upgrade – 1500 devices MAF- Netbook rollout (custom scripted OS install)– 200 devices IRD- Design and implementation of asset management system (ZAM) for inventory of 10,000 + devices IRD- Laptop encryption project – implement government legislative requirement for securing a data on portable devices IRD – Windows 2000 desktop deployment for 5500 users IRD – Netware 6 rollout – 36 servers national wide

IRD - Implementation & maintenance of Electronic libraries for 4000 users Vodafone – successful vendor transition from HP to Unisys

2000 - 2004 Second and third level technical support After honing my skills on the shop floor I was given the opportunity to progress to the next level of system support. My primary responsibility was the IRD engagement focusing on: incident BAU management; and resolving issues within the agreed SLA time period. Major achievements during this period were providing ongoing support to a high level across 7000 devices with a team of 4 staff. I was proud to be part of a team which consistently achieved/exceeded our agreed SLA targets on a regular basis.

1998 – 2000 Onsite engineer I immigrated to New Zealand in late 1996. I studied for 1 year and then had the opportunity to join Unisys as an entry level engineer. This was an initial two week contract working on the first IRD engagement.
