ABOUT TASTE HOLDINGS

The founder believed that the combination of his secret recipe and the traditional braai method would bring people together and since opening the first store in Caledon in 1998, Zebro’s have been serving its unique chicken meals to South Africans.

In 2014, Taste Holdings Limited acquired the Zebro’s franchise business and the business has grown into one of South Africa’s most loved chicken brands.

HISTORY

Like any truly South African tale, our story started many years

ago around a fire, with good conversation and chicken pieces

braaied to perfection on smoking hot coals.

This authentic South African meal was an instant hit with

people queueing for this 100% local, lekker & authentic braaied

chicken. Our unique sauce became the talk of the town.

Of course something this good has to be shared and so we are

spreading the original Zebro’s experience, born in the heart of

Caledon, to the rest of our beautiful country.

OUR STORY

Nothing brings families together like a good old South African braai and what sets Zebro’s chicken apart from the rest lies in the preparation. Chicken pieces are basted with our famous Zebro’s sauce and then braaied to perfection using coals providing a healthier alternative to deep-fried chicken. Customers can look forward to an expansive menu including chicken burgers, Russians, fresh-cut chips, and assorted salads.

The simplicity of the product range has resulted in the lowest new-store establishment cost in its category as well as uncomplicated in-store operations. Zebro’s meals can be enjoyed either as a take-away or eat-in meal.
