BPW NRS/NRZ series axles are specially designed to cater for axle loads of 4,500 kg to 5,500 kg, and are available to suit 6 stud or 8 stud steel wheels. Robust and well engineered in the BPW tradition, these axles are designed for use with a specially optimised BPW airbag suspension.

B PW NRS/NRZ series axles are specially designed to cater for axle loads of 4500kg to 5500kg, and are available to suit 6 stud or 8 stud steel wheels. Robust and well engineered in the BPW tradition, these

axles are designed for use with a specially optimised BPW airbag suspension.

BPW NRZ / NRS Axle and BPW Airbag Suspension

Features of the BPW 4.5 and 5.5 tonne axles: -

• Round axle beam Ø 100 mm or Ø 101.6 mm with the proven BPW drum brake systems in 300 x 100 mm drum sizes.

• Weight of axle plus suspension, e.g. with a 2000 mm track axle in conjunction with a suitable BPW air suspension module - 298 kg.

• For single (NRS) or twin (NRZ) tyres and either stud or hub centring.

• For tyres from 9” to 19.5” on drum brake ax-les.

• Use of the BPW wear sensor for drum brakes in conjunction with the BPW Brake Monitor and EBS is possible.

Features of the BPW Airbag Suspension for 4.5 and 5.5 tonne axles: -

• BPW Airbag Suspensions are available to suit the NRZ/NRS series axles. These suspen-sions have been specially optimised for the 4500kg to 5500kg axle load task, and utilise the very successful BPW trailing arm spring design. This results in a fully serviceable sys-tem, with exceptional roll stability, and excel-lent axle location to give the lowest possible tyre wear.

• Ride height ranges from 170 mm to 480 mm with the drum brake axles.

• Hanger brackets have integrated wheel align-ment mechanism to enable precise tracking and long tyre service life.

• Suitable for narrow bottom chassis flanges because of the reduced width of the suspen-sion hanger brackets in the welding area.

• Ideal for tandem axle trailers with a wheel-base of less than one metre, in order to take advantage of beneficial registration and driv-ing licence arrangements.

• Available as a complete airbag suspension unit with airbag piping kit, including height control valve, pressure protection valve, filter, airtank, nylon pipe and fittings.
