This means that once qualified you have a very transferable qualificationwhich gives you excellent career opportunities.
The syllabus
The ACCA syllabus combines the benefits of traditionalaccounting skills with strategic thinking,communication skills, people management skills, ethics
and business conduct.
The exams focus on key areas required by financeprofessionals to excel in their jobs and add value totheir company’s performance.
The examPapers F1-F3 are either two-hour written exams or two-hour computer based exams*.
All other papers are three-hour written exams (with a15 minute reading/planning period before the exam)held in Ljubljana.
Written exams are held in the first full two weeks of June and December. Computer based exams can beattempted at any time.

How BPP can help you to pass
BPP Professional Education in Slovenia offers coursesfor the December ACCA examination session.
BPP courses are usually split into two phases.
• Introductory – this course introduces you to thebasics and starts you on the main topics. In class,tutors work through the course notes explaining theconcepts and demonstrating techniques usinglecture examples. Knowledge is consolidated by
practising questions in the course note’s questionbank.
• Revision – this part of the course refreshes yourknowledge closer to the ACCA exam and gives youplenty of practice and demonstration of exam stylequestions. The focus is on understanding what theexaminer wants from you making sure that you candeliver under the time constraints of the exam.

To support you with your study the followingmaterials are available.
• Course notes* – this is a summary of the topicsthat will be covered during the course. Yourtutor will work through these illustrating thetopics with lecture examples.
• Study text – this is an ACCA approved book explaining all of the topics in the exam syllabusin depth and complements the course notes.
• i-learn – this CD package gives you theflexibility to work through a computer basedtutorial.
• Practice and revision kit – this book of examstandard questions is used during the revisioncourse to help you to perfect your examtechnique.
• i-pass – this CD is packed full of interactivequestions to help you test the level of yourknowledge.
• Passcards – this pocket sized booklet helps youto study on the move with simple summaries of the subjects.
• Learn online – this internet learning system
gives you more flexibility.
Practice makes perfect
Course attendants have the opportunity to sit apractice exam after the introductory course. This givesyou the chance to test the level of your understandingand make sure that your studies are on track.
A mock exam after the revision course helps toprepare you for the real exam.
Your answers are marked by the tutors and feedback isgiven to help you to improve on your performance.
Tutor support is also available by e-mail right up to theday you sit your exam.

Rosauro Aala MA DipCG FCA
Ros Aala worked in audit with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Plymouth, UK and qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in 1996. He traveled extensively with PwC on assignments in theUnited Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan and South Africa as well as working in their training department in
London, where he developed internal accounting, audit and personal development training courses. Ros has hadextensive internal audit experience in the public sector and in the private sector. He joined the BPP team in 2000.

Tatiana is ACCA qualified and worked in the financial services group of KPMG. She has experience with the audit of banks, leasing companies and asset management funds. Before moving to the accounting profession Tatiana worked inthe research department of ING Bank. She joined BPP in 2005.

Erica Gibbon BA ACA
Erica Gibbon, ICAEW member, qualified in the audit department and the corporate tax group with BDO Binder Hamlynin Manchester, UK. In 1994 Erica moved to Romania where she became management accountant and human resourcemanager for PricewaterhouseCoopers. There she was responsible for delivering audit, accounting and human resourcetraining for several PwC offices around European. In 1999 she joined BPP.

Richard Gibbon BA FCA Richard Gibbon is a Fellow of the ICAEW qualifying with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Manchester, UK. He moved toPwC Romania in 1994 as senior manager of the audit & valuation department, responsible for a range of privatisationprojects and several international manufacturing clients. Promotion to managing director of PwC in Kazakhstanfollowed. Richard joined BPP in 1999 and is the director for BPP’s operation outside the UK.

Michal Kopper ACCA
Michal joined the financial services group of KPMG in 2002. Before joining BPP, Michal worked as financial controllerfor Amslico AIG Life, a subsidiary of American Insurance Group Inc. He was responsible for the preparation of groupreporting packages, statutory reports and financial statements. Michal has extensive experience with the financialservices sector, advertising businesses and media agencies.

Attila Csutora ACCA
Attila graduated from the University of Miskolc as a German teacher in 1999 and later in business economics in 2002.He joined the audit department of Deloitte and worked as an auditor for three years. Attila earned the ACCAqualification during this time and joined BPP in 2005.
