TTCA Education ProgramsMonday, May 27, 2019

6-8:30 p.m.Nosework Seminar with Sue McKinney

Scent Work celebrates the joy of sniffing and asks a dog to sniff to their heart’s content, turning your Tibetan's favorite activity into a rewarding game. The sport ofScent Work is based on the work of professional detection dogs (such as drug dogs),employed by humans to detect a wide variety of scents and substances. The ownerdoesn't have control in this dog sport. When the hide is hidden the owner has to relyon the dog and the dog’s nose to succeed. There are four odors: Birch, Anise, Cloveand Cypress. Cotton swabs with an odor are hidden out of sight in a pre-determinedsearch area, and the dog has to find them. Teamwork is necessary; when the dog findsthe scent, he has to communicate the find to the owner, who calls it out to the judgewith Alert.

Ten teams will actively participate while the rest will observe and learn. The cost for theSeminar is $20 for active participation and FREE for observers. Participating teams willbe selected on a first received basis so mail your registration form with your checkmade payable to TTCA to:

Fran Kridakorn, 292 Lake Region Circle, Wetumpka, AL 36092email: [email protected]

Tuesday, May 28, 20191-3:30 p.m.

Learn the steps needed and legal paperwork required to make sure your wants/wishesare carried out. Don’t leave the fate of your dogs up to strangers!
