JAY RAYNER – MY DINING HELLThursday 5 March 7.30pm £14 / £12

Jay Rayner has been a restaurant critic for over a decade, written reviews of well over 700 establishments, and if there is one thing he’s learnt it is that people like reviews of bad restaurants. No, scratch that. They adore them, feast upon them like starving vultures who have spotted fly-blown carrion out in the bush. In My Dining Hell, Jay examines our love affair with lousy reviews, reads from accounts of some of the most excruciating nights out he’s ever had, looks at the worst reviews his own work has ever received, and invites the audience to give his performance a review in real time via Twitter. A hugely entertaining evening in the company of the man recently voted the best food and drink journalist in Britain.

Jay Rayner is an award winning journalist, writer and broadcaster. He has been the Observer newspaper’s restaurant critic for over 12 years, is the resident food expert on The One Show, a regular judge on Masterchef and chair of BBC Radio 4’s Kitchen Cabinet.

AN EVENING OF PUBLIC SHAMING WITH JON RONSONThursday 19 March 8pm £14 / £12

Have you ever made a joke on Twitter that accidently came out wrong and as a consequence you have been torn apart by a crazy mob? Have you ever been part of a crazy mob tearing someone apart for telling a joke on Twitter that came out wrong? Have you ever committed a workplace transgression and now you’ve got the terrible feeling that someone is onto you? Jon Ronson has. Actually Jon Ronson hasn’t. Just kidding. Jon Ronson hasn’t done anything wrong. However, he’s spent the past three years with people who have – documenting the destruction close up. And now he’s ready to tell the tale.

Simultaneously hilarious and powerful in the way only Jon can be, An Evening of Public Shaming with Jon Ronson is an illustrated one-man show about the renaissance of public shaming, and our very scary part in it.
