Satellite mini dishes will need a clear line of sight to the satellites they are receiving. Most satellites

transmitting to the UK are high above the horizon. For this reason satellite mini dishes can be

positioned at low level.

Your equipment supplier should guide you on this. For example, to receive Sky digital

your satellite mini dish will need to point towards the Astra satellite.

You should ensure that your satellite mini dish cannot be seen from roads and other public spaces. Dishes should be installed:

• as unobtrusively as possible on the rear or side elevations

• at ground level or below 2 metres where possible

• on garages, sheds or other outbuildings with a suitable orientation

• on a fence or washing line post

You could consider shared dish schemes with other local residents using one communal mini dish to feed multiple dwellings.

Only one mini dish or aerial per property permitted.

All old equipment should be removed when new equipment is fitted.

Listed buildings or properties within Conservation Areas

If you live in a listed building

or in one of the Conservation

Areas you should also obtain

permission separately from

Birmingham City Council. appl
