BOTTLES/BUBBLES DECK FOUNDATIONS

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

Taking as a precedence the system of Bubble Deck founda-tions, and considering that owners of land within the set-tlements already have skills in raft foundations; wastage such as plastic bottles, cans and plastic bags will be used along with existing materials such as concrete, steel mesh-es, aluminium ties, to form a cheaper and faster method-olgy of construction. Both casting directly onto the ground, using plastic bags as waterproof sheets, and decreasing the quantity of concrete needed, will lower the costs of foun-dations.The system of building metal meshes to incorpo-rate the bubble (plastic bottle and cans), will also fasten the process. The overall structure will also be lighter in weight and less likely to sink. Men will need little training too, as they are already dealing with raft foundation systems at

present.

MATERIALS NEEDED

Metal meshes and aluminium ties will be used to both create the cage, that will contain the plastic bot-tles and cans, as well as keeping in form the plastic formwork, structure, on which to pour the concrete.

as the bottles will be positioned in the middle of the concrete slab, the founda-tions will become lighter in weight and less concrete will be needed, lowering costs.

Wastage plastic bottles , cans and plastic bags will be recy-cled, aiding the social issue of rubbish in the community .
