Preparation
1. Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dust,oil, grease and any loose materials.

HIGH VELOCITY ACRYLIC DUCT SEALANTBostik Idenden High Velocity Acrylic Duct Sealant 40-317 is designed for use on both low and high velocity heating andair conditioning ducts. Bostik Idenden High Velocity Acrylic Duct Sealant 40-317 forms a tough, yet flexible seal, whichprevents loss of internal pressure without the necessity of additional tape. It is both waterproof and flame retardant andhas excellent adhesion to metal surfaces. Before using this product refer to the relevant Health & Safety Sheet.

Application
2. Cut off the dome at the top of the cartridge, cut thenozzle to the required diameter and then screw itonto the cartridge.
3. Insert the cartridge into a skeleton gun and squeezethe trigger until the sealant appears.
4. Extrude a continuous bead of sealant along theseam or slip joint.
5. Position and fit sections of duct together, thentighten while the sealant is still wet.
6. Using a disposable applicator coat excess over theexterior of the joint and over the heads of all metal
screws after they are in place and the joint isfastened.
Cleaning
7. Clean application equipment and remove excessuncured sealant with fresh water and cured sealantwith hot soapy water.

Product Users are advised to confirm the suitability of the Products by their own tests.
This TDS covers just one of a large range of products supplied by the Company.
