Summer time has finally arrived! Now that days are getting warmer, we are inviting you to a couple of great events. On July 4th at 12:00, we will have our Independence Day Picnic with activities to follow. Also on Saturday July 29th, at 2:00, we will be hosting “A Berry Jubilee.” All donations and proceeds will be raised for the Vancouver Alzheimer’s Foundation. We hope to see you at these great events. Pacifica Sylvan Park.

Singing classic old tunes and some new tunes, Dan gets the residents singing while developing their mu-sic skills with instruments. Residents leave the activity smiling and singing.

Dan comes to Pacifica once a month interacting with residents in song.

Planned Exercise Schedule Have a routine exercise planned out each day. Even though residents are not engaging in strenuous exercises, it is important to have a planned agenda for each day. Muscles need to be rested af-ter each work out and some-times take 2 to 3 days to re-cover. Keeping this in mind plan to do separate body parts each day. For instance if on Monday you did arms and shoulders, do back and stomach on Tues-day.

Remember drink plenty of fluids between meals and activities.

Sprucing up your daily exercise routine, with music is not only exciting. It is Inviting and tempting to on-lookers, who soon participate. I add lyrics from classic tunes the residents grew up with. In implementing this, residents engage and have fun while not realizing they are exercising. Before you know it the activity is over, but the tune is still heard throughout the campus during the day. Famous tunes to use are: My Bonnie Ball in the Jack Row Your boat Coming around the Mountain .

We have two separate non-denominational Church Services on Thursdays, conducted by Haran & Barbara Cannon.

Service is held at 10:30 in Yale, Mayfield Cottage breezeway 3rd floor, also at 11:00 in Lacamas, Merwin Cottage breezeway 3rd floor.

We will only have one ser-vice on the last Thursday of the month at 10:30, at Yale Mayfield cottage on 3rd floor.

, We also have someone that comes in to perform Catholic Communion for those that wish it.

July’s church schedule: 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th.

Weekly Bible Study Once a week at 1:30 on the 2nd floor of Yale Cottage, residents gather around to discuss and learn scriptures. Topics include, Love, Anger, Praise, Rejoice, ect.
