Introduction1.1 GeneralLEONI is a global supplier of wires, optical �bers, cables and cable systems as well as a provider of associated services to the automotive sector and other industries.

The LEONI brand, which unites a diverse range of activities, products and services, builds on a corporate identity characterised by a high com-mitment to quality, close customer relationships, tradition and innovation.

With its two divisions and associated business units, LEONI presents itself as a corporate Group occupying a leading position in its markets, many of them worldwide.

It is therefore all the more important to create a clear identity across all media formats and show that all parts of the Group belong together. This style guide provides a binding and yet �ex-ible framework for doing this.

Its consistent application will ensure that LEONI’s brand identity remains clear throughout the Group, with standardised elements on all levels of communication. By using these de�nitions, we aspire to create a brand identity that engenders trust both within and outside the Group, and allows people to identify as closely as possible with it.

Introduction1.1 General

How can the core competences of a market leader be seen when the quality of its products is, by nature, hidden?

How can the trade show booths tangibly demon-strate the brand claim "The Quality Connection"? The core theme of "Making the unseen seen" was de�ned with the aim of answering this question, and used as the basis for developing a three-dimensional brand presentation concept. The three key motifs "Connection", "Cross-sections" and "Fanning out" were derived from the product itself, and drive the entire communication hie-rarchy from distance recognition down to product presentation.

Linking all the display elements together, a hori-zontal concept line forms the Quality Connection between individual product presentations on the wall.

Circular alcoves interrupt this line to provide a close-up interior view of the products, thereby creating an aesthetic form of product presentation that is unusual in this market segment.

It’s fun to play:This approach to showcasing LEONI’s products o�ers a variety of presentation options that cater to the Group’s extensive portfolio. The high-contrast black and white shapes and graphics provide a neutral, crisp communication platform that is ideal for directing one’s attention towards the diverse, brightly coloured products. In contrast to the technical appearance of the exhibition areas, the warm colours of the lounge give it an inviting atmosphere.

By emotive graphics we mean groups of images that appeal to visitors on an emotional level. Images with positive associations will evoke positive feelings in the observer, who will then connect these feelings with the LEONI brand.

The communication matrix tells you what content may be communicated via which medium. The size of the dot indicates the relevance/visual impact.

Graphics3.4 Rules of playBase colour 1For light and brightly coloured products, the back-ground colour of the display case/niche/platform is RAL 9011 (black), to clearly distinguish the exhibits from their surroundings.

Graphics3.4 Rules of playAlternative solution when there are few/ no exhibits To maintain the same overall visual impression when there are no products to be displayed, printed circles may be used instead of display cases.Various options for their content include the web-site URL / BU name / product range / testimoni-als / claim / etc. The range of colours used must be agreed on with CC. The circle’s diameter may be 600 mm, 800 mm, 1200 mm or 1400 mm (+10 mm border).

The rules for positioning display cases and niches, and for adding graphics to them, apply equally to these printed circles.

Highlight products and alternative solution for abstract products or products with no visually distinguishing featuresA combination of products and visual motifs in a niche/display case or on a platform is only permit-ted for highlight exhibits or if the exhibit is visually nondescript. In these cases, a photograph of the product may complement the exhibit as a way of explaining what it is.

No standardised style guide for this, but a range of multi-media solutions in the product area are permitted.

Graphics3.4 Rules of playSecondary brand level (LEONI logo)As well as the primary brand level for distance recognition, a printed logo additionally sends out a clear signal. With a standard wall height of 3.60 m, the logo will be 60cm in length.(The logo may on no account be larger than the logo on the image wall)

Headline/SublineThe wall height plays a key role in positioning the sector identi�er: with a standard wall height of 3.60 m, the base-line of the �rst line will be 3 m above the ground. Except for the logo signalling the brand, the sector identi�er is at the very top of the infor mation hie-rarchy and should clearly identify the sector, even from a distance.

Description of the product groupVisitors should be able to tell immediately which product group is being referred to. The descrip-tion of the product group appears immediately above the 2.5cm thick horizontal line, i.e. 1.58 m above the ground. Whether it should be placed to the left or right of the display case/niche will be determined by the visual impression made.The description of the product group may be supple-mented by a short piece of additional text (optional).

Product informationThe speci�c product names are located within the circle, immediately next to the exhibits they describe. If the text is to be printed on transparent �lm, the cap height should be at least 1cm. If not, the exact positioning of the text will depend on the size, position and type of exhibit.

Graphics3.4 Rules of playRules for wall design and layoutThe principle of the white and dot screen walls can be explained more simply by assuming that, except for walls displaying a headline, which are white, every wall will have a dot screen pattern. As a result, there will be one white wall, or at least a white section, in each of the areas for the di�er-ent sectors.Circles may, but do not necessarily have to, over-lap the two di�erent background surfaces. Where they do overlap, however, the "20-60-20" rule must be followed.The use of white walls without a sector identifier con-stitutes a gross violation of the design guidelines.

Visual motifsA third, complementary element may be pro-vided by visual motifs. These may be taken from the group of images associated with the relevant sector and should evoke positive emotions in the visitors. It is therefore important to ensure that the motif is not too visually complex, and that it serves as a decorative element only, not to con-vey information. The rules for positioning display cases and niches, and for adding graphics/visual motifs to them, apply equally to printed circles.

The motif should always intersect with a circle.

The motif may extend to the full height of the wall or stop at the horizontal line; intermediate heights are not permitted.

The width of the motif may vary above a minimum width of 1000 mm.

The most important design elements to be con-sidered here are the circles.

The walls of the large booth sizes should primarily feature the de�ned circular elements.

However, large walls may also be covered by a visual motif, so long as this does not interfere with or spoil the design concept.

As long as the booth is large enough, circular graphics may also be used for small booths.The maximum permitted size for circles in this case is 1.40 m, to ensure that the monitor on the image wall remains the largest and most impor-tant circular element.

A reduced wall graphic may be used, so long as it does not spoil the trade show concept and the visual theme cannot be covered by the image wall.This will always be decided on a case-by-case basis.

Presentation of productsNiches, display cases and cylindrical presentation stands in a range of sizes are to be used to present LEONI’s products. The circular/cylindrical shape is a key design element.

By reinforcing the substructure, the load capacity of the wall niches and display cases can be increased by max. 5 kg.

Niches and display casesA form of product presen-tation that is mounted in the wall. Products may be pre-sented in niches and display cases of di�ering depths.

Niche: Products are to be mounted directly onto a black or silver back wall.

Display case: Products are generally to extend either up or down from a base into which they are mounted. However, they may also be mounted directly onto the back wall.

Cylindrical presentation standsProducts may be placed on a range of cylindrical presentation stands using black, interchangeable presentation trays.

Lambda multimedia information columnsLambda is a multimedia information display series for displaying presentations and videos attractively at trade shows and events. The columns can be equipped with screens in three di�erent sizes (24", 46", and 70"), as well as an inte-grated mini-PC. In ad dition, it is possible to choose between having single touch screens (24" or 46") or a shelf for a computer keyboard and mouse. The slim design of the corpus and the use of high-quality materials such as glass and aluminum give the columns an elegant appearance.
