Getting to Millport is easy The car ferry from Largs takes 10 minutes and leaves every 30 minutes (15 and 45 mins past the hour). Largs is easily accessible by direct train and bus from Glasgow, and from both Glasgow and Prestwick Airports. Buses into Millport meet every ferry.
Where to stay Most dancers stay in bed and breakfast accommodation or in self-catering flats with friends. For full details of where to stay and information on the island, go to www.millport.org We advise early booking.
Why come to Millport? People fall in love with Cumbrae. It is less famous than Arran, Mull, Skye or lona, but it has a charm of its own. Originally part of the County of Bute, it is now part of North Ayrshire. On Saturday afternoon why not walk or cycle round the island -11 miles - and have lunch at Fintry Bay Tearoom, or take the Inner Circle walk to the top of the island with stunning views up and down the Clyde. Visit the Cathedral of the Isles, the smallest in Europe, designed by William Butterfield, the famous Victorian architect of many churches including St Ninian's Cathedral, Perth, and St Paul's Cathedral, Melbourne.

The Millport Weekend
Millport is the main town on one of Scotland's closest yet most beautiful islands - the Isle of Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde. The Millport Weekend is a very friendly and sociable event. Come and dance with us; walk round the island; explore the seashore; visit the smallest cathedral in Europe; relax and unwind on this lovely island.
Teacher: Margo Priestley (Edinburgh)
Music: Lindsay Weir and her S.C. Dance Band
