Book Path: Let’s Go!

WHAT is a book path?

• A Book Path is a way for you to preview a large

number of books in a short period of time.

• You will have a certain period of time at each table.

At each table, preview as many of the books as you

can in the time period. You will then move to the

next table to preview the books there.

Book Path: Let’s Go! HOW to preview and rate?

• To preview: Read the cover, the back or inside

black, and go to the first page and begin

reading. – Don’t judge the books by their cover!

• Fill out the Book Path Tracker – The book path worksheet is designed to help you find more than

one book that appeals to your tastes and for you to keep track of the

books you will want to read in the future.

• Rate each book on a scale of 1-10 – Consider: Does the book seem interesting? Is it about something

you can relate to?

– 1 being the least interesting to you and 10 being the most.

• There is a Rating Key on the bottom of the Book Path Tracker to help you with your rating.

Book Path: Let’s Go! HOW to write comments?

• RATE FIRST - then WRITE COMMENTS – Only write comments if you rate the book a 6+…If you

rate it below a 6, get a new book.

– Don’t like It?? Get a new book!

• Be VERY specific with your comments! – These comments will be the guide for you in the future

to help remind you about the book. • What is the genre of the book?

• What is it about?

• Why do you think you’ll like it?

• How may pages are in the book?
