Center Block:Make 1

Stitch two blue tonal 3” x 9 3/4” pieces to thesides of the blue wizard 9 3/4” square. Addfour purple tonal 3” squares and the remainingblue tonal 3” x 9 3/4” strips.

Cut the cream moon 11” squares oncediagonally. Add to the center square.

Add the blue tonal 3” x 20 7/8” strips to thesides of the block. Add four purple tonal 3”squares and the remaining blue tonal 3” x 207/8” strips.

Cut the cream solid 4 7/8” squares twicediagonally. Add the remaining purple tonal 3”squares. Combine with the blue moon andblack owl 5 5/8” squares to make the cornerunits. Add to the block center.

Cut the cream solid 4 1/2” squares oncediagonally. Add to the corners to completethe block. trim to 36 1/2” square if necessary.

Stitch the cream solid 2 1/2” x 36 1/2” strips tothe sides of the center block. Add the creamsolid 2 1/2” x 40 1/2” strips to the top andbottom.

Block B:Make 8 owl, 8 unicorn

Cut the purple tonal 2 1/8” squares oncediagonally.

Cut a 45º angle from one end of the creamsolid 1 3/4” x 3 3/8” pieces. combine with theblue owl and blue unicorn 4” squares. Trim to5 1/2” square if necessary.

Alternate the blue unicorn and blue owl blocks,adding them to the top and bottom of thequilt.

Add a blue tonal 2 1/2” x 40 1/2” strip to thetop and bottom of the quilt.

Add the black wizard 4 1/2” x 40 1/2” strips tothe top and bottom of the quilt.

Cut one blue tonal 2 1/2” x 44” strip in half.Add a whole strip to each piece. Add to thetop and bottom of the quilt. Stitch theremaining four blue tonal strips together inpairs. Add to the sides of the quilt, miteringcorners.

Repeat border using the 4 1/2” x 44” creamwizard strips.

Layer, baste and quilt as desired.

Bind with remaining blue tonal fabric.
