BOOK CLUB SETS - How to place a reservation

Sets of books chosen especially for book clubs are available for loan from Goldfields Libraries. There are currently over 200 different titles to choose from. More titles will be added regularly. Each Book Club set comprises ten copies of the book, delivered in a blue bag to your local Goldfields Library branch. If your book club would like to make use of our Book Club sets, here’s how it works—

Your book club must nominate a delegate, who will be responsible for reserving, borrowing, and returning the Book Club set.

Agree on a name for your book club – e.g., Purple People Book Club, Mad Men Book Club.

Your book club delegate applies at a Goldfields Library branch for a Book Club card. Note: Be sure to bring photo ID bearing your current address.

Using the card, reserve a Book Club set 10 days before each meeting of your book club.

Book Club sets can be reserved only using a Book Club card. Important: Do not reserve a Book Club set which is already onloan or reserved.

You will be notified when the reserved Book Club set arrives at your Goldfields Library branch.

Collect the Book Club set from your Goldfields Library branch. You will need to present your Book Club card. Book Club sets are issued for a loan period of 6 weeks. An extension of a further 4 weeks’ loan is permitted, if another book club has not reserved the set.

It is the responsibility of your book club’s nominated delegate to distribute the books. A record sheet is supplied with each set, in order to keep track of which copy of the book is issued to each member.

Your delegate is responsible for retrieving all ten copies and returning the Book Club set to the library complete, in its bag, on or before the due date. Overdue fines apply.

We welcome suggestions of new Book Club titles; however, not all suggestions will result in a purchase.

On the home page click CATALOGUE Please Note: We recommend that you reserve a

book club set about TEN DAYS before the date of

your next meeting. Make sure the set you want

isn’t already reserved or on loan.

Choose Advanced search

3. Choose BOOK CLUB collection

4. Choose a Book Club set

In the COLLECTION box, scroll down to

BOOK CLUB then click OK

Click on the title you are interested in.

Please note: Do not choose a set that is already

reserved

Check that the Book Club set is available.

If onloan, return to the catalogue & choose another title.

When happy with your choice,

click Place Reservation

Enter the borrower number (barcode) from your library card.

Enter your PIN (the year of birth of your Book Club leader?)

Select the branch for pickup, using the drop-down menu, then click Place Reservation
