Craps is played with two 6 sided dice, and is “dealt” by three dealers: one stick person and two base dealers. Overseeing the game is a floor supervisor called a box person.

HOW TO PLAY CRAPS

PASS LINE - 7 and 11 win on the first roll (Come out roll), and 2, 3 and 12 lose. Any other number establishes the point. If the point rolls again before a 7 rolls (“7 out”) the players win the Pass Line bet. If a 7 rolls before the point, all pass line bets lose and the dice are passed to the next shooter.

DON’T PASS LINE - Essentially opposite of the Pass Line. 2 and 3 win on the first roll, and lose on 7 and 11. If a 12 rolls, the Don’t Pass is a “stand off,” or a push. Any other number establishes the point. The don’t pass wins if a 7 is rolled before the point.

COME - Players may make Come bets any time after the point is established. They are the same as betting on the Pass Line.

DON’T COME - Players may make Don’t Come bets any time after the point is established. They are the same as betting on the Don’t Pass Line.

ODDS - Players may make an optional wager called odds on the Pass Line and Come bets. If 6 or 8 rolls, odds pay 6 to 5; if 5 or 9 rolls, odds pay 3 to 2 and if 4 or 10 roll, odds pay 2 to 1. Players may make an optional wager called Lay odds on the Don’t Pass Line and Don’t Come bets. If 6 or 8 rolls, the player must lay 6 to win 5; if 5 or 9 rolls, the player must lay 3 to win 2, and if 4 or 10 roll, a player must lay 2 to win 1.

PLACE BETS - Players may make optional wagers called Place Bets. A place bet pays 7 to 6 on the 6 and 8, 7 to 5 on the 5 and 9, and 9 to 5 on the 4 and 10.

BUY BETS AND BUY LAY BETS - Buy and Buy Lay bets pay odds without requiring a flat bet and may be made directly on a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 at any time without waiting for the number to roll the first time. There is a 5% commission on the amount of a Buy bet placed, and a 5% commission on the total amount won on a Buy Lay bet. The Buy bet wins if the number bet is rolled before a 7.The Buy Lay bet wins if a 7 rolls before the number bet on. In either case, the wager is paid according to true odds as listed above in the Odds section.

BONUS CRAPSBIG 6 AND 8 - The bet is for even money and can be placed or removed at any time and is a self-service bet (meaning the player is responsible for placing the bet and retrieving any winnings bet.) The bet wins if a 6 or 8 is rolled before a 7.

FIELD - The Field is a is a self-service, one-roll bet that can be placed at any time before the dice are thrown. Winning numbers are 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12. If a 2 or 12 is rolled, wagers pay double, all other numbers rolled pay even money.

HARDWAY BETS - Hardway bets are located in the center of the layout and are “booked” and placed by the dealer. The hardways consist of the hard 4, 6, 8 and 10 (two 2’s, two 3’s, two 4’s, and two 8’s respectively.) Hardways win when the dice roll is the combination which you are betting on. The hardways lose if a 7 or another combination of your number is rolled before the hardway. Hardways always “work” unless you call them off.

PROPOSITION BETS - Proposition bets (or Prop bets) are wagers on the specific outcome of the next dice roll. Prop bets may be made at any time before the dice are thrown. Prop bets must be “booked” by a Base dealer or Stick person. In order to make a prop bet, players should call out the bet and then toss their chips to the Stick person. Every number combination may be wagered upon. All dice combinations made with a pair of numbers pay 30 to 1. All other combinations pay 15 to 1.

BONUS CRAPS

Bonus Craps is a set of three additional proposition wagers. These three wagers are known as All Small, All Tall, and Make’Em All. Any of these three optional wagers must be bet on a Come Out roll only. When a 7 rolls, either a 7 out or 7 winner, all Bonus Craps wagers lose and are taken down. Winning Bonus Craps wagers are paid according to the following pay table.
