Red Nose Day Thank you to all the parents who entered the Bonnygate Parent Bake Off this week. It was a lovely morning spent eating cake and drinking coffee, all for a great cause! There were some amazing entries but there could unfortunately only be one winner (and two runners up!). Mrs Stukins, Mrs Shafiq and Mrs Greenham spent lots of time deliberating and the results were as follows: First Place was the 'Lemon Meringue Cheesecake' made by Blakely S in Acorn Class and his dad. Second Place was the 'Strawberry Cream Dream Cake' made by Radhika K in Apple Class and her mum. Third Place was the 'Lemon Drizzle Cake' made by Demi, Logan and Keira-Leigh W in Ash, Acorn and Sycamore and their nan. Thank you again for all your donations and hard work over Red Nose week. We will have the grand total raised in next week's newsletter. Thorndon Country Park Ash class went on a school trip to Thorndon Country Park last Friday. The park was so big and we met our lovely instructor Matt who taught us many things. We looked at different stones and learnt more about the formation of different types of rocks. Year 3 also got to make a mud mountain that got us really muddy! We also did clay printing and stone decorating, it was so much fun that we didn't want to leave. Now we can’t wait for our next adventure! - Teagan M Rainham Marshes On Thursday, we went to Rainham Marshes and did two main things, bird watching and pond dipping. When we arrived the two classes split up. My class watched a short powerpoint about different birds such as the Robin, the Heran and the Mallard. In the afternoon, we walked down to the pond and did some fishing with nets. We also discovered what we had caught such as water louses, water fleas and water snails. - Olivia C Poetry Heats A massive well done to all the children who participated in the Poetry Heats last night. All children represented Bonnygate beautifully and should be extremely proud of themselves. An extra well done to the groups who made it through to next weeks finals! We would also like to say a huge thank you to the members of staff for their huge amounts of effort in rehearsing with the children! Thorndon Country Park

Ash class went on a school trip to Thorndon Country Park last Friday.
