Mrs Allen raised £65 £65 £65 £65 for the little school in Kenya by selling some knit wear at the Christmas shopping night. This funded the children’s Christmas party. CLUBS NEXT TERM Did you get the Clubs letter? New clubs include Hockey, Football and Recorder Club. Thanks to Mr Newman and Miss Busby freely volunteering their time to run their clubs, we’re able to buy a school football strip and more musical instruments out of the club costs. Thank you! Joke: Father Christmas' sledge broke down on Christmas Eve. He flagged down a passing motorist and asked, 'Can you help me fix my sledge?' 'Sorry,' the motorist replied. 'I'm not a mechanic - I'm a chiropodist.' 'Well, can you give me a toe?' INSET DAYS 3 INSET days have now been agreed by the Governing Body. These are Friday 1 June, Thursday 19 July, Friday 20 July 2012. These are in addition to Monday 20 February 2012. BUFFER ZONE TASK TEAM We’d like to introduce you to Captain Buffer Zone, Paul Wakeford. Paul, our Premises Manager, is taking over the Buffer Zone project and will be leading the task days to help us manage this learning space. Look out for him in the playground – he’ll be galvanising our task day volunteers. NEXT TASK DAY is Saturday 14 January. LIBRARY HELPERS LIBRARY HELPERS LIBRARY HELPERS LIBRARY HELPERS NEEDED NEEDED NEEDED NEEDED We’re looking for someone with an hour or so to spare every now and then to help us with the Library. We’ll show you how to put books on the system, check records and all other things that librarians are great at. You don’t even need to be really quiet as our school librarian! Shhhh! Friends of BVPS and School (for dyslexia awareness and resourcing) Thank you to the Bolnore Arts Group Bolnore Arts Group Bolnore Arts Group Bolnore Arts Group for their work with all of us on our Community Christmas Tree – look out for the Over the Rainbow Tree Over the Rainbow Tree Over the Rainbow Tree Over the Rainbow Tree at the Cuckfield Christmas Tree Festival this weekend. Elf Elf Elf Elf Day 2012 was a huge success. Elf Workshop activities in the morning were followed by a fantastic Christmas lunch. And then the Toy Fayre! Thank goodness our Elves worked hard to earn their Elf Wages at home as there were so many things at the Fayre to do and buy! Thank you to all the Friends of BVPS and Bolnore Arts Group Elpers who have been busy in the Toy Factory recently and who elped set up and run the Toy Fayre today. The School Councelves also did a great job on their stall working out change and advertising their wares. Santa was very busy in his grotto and wrote down all those requests. Even Mrs Allen visited him and asked for world peace and economic stability. (Santa’s not sure about delivery times apparently but will carry on eating ‘Brussels’ sprouts if that elps) Thank you for elping the Elves with their money making ventures at home. Lots of children were very proud of their wages and really thought carefully about how they could spend their money at the Toy Fayre. Handling money, talking about change, thinking about cost, budgeting….. Lots of learning here today and North Pole Fun!.
