Basic coated electrode for vertical down welding of filler and cover passes. The weld deposit shows an ideal combination of high strength and cryogenic toughness down to -50 C. Special design and development work has enabled this electrode to provide exceptional striking characteristics and the avoidance of start porosity on cover (cap) passes. Due to this and the good welding characteristics this special basic electrode offers easy handling even under field conditions (HD 5 ml/100 g). The deposition rate is 80 - 100%higher than vertical up welding. HIC and SSC approved.

SAW wire/flux combinations for joint welding of high strength steels. With minimum yield strength of 560 N/mm2 (3NiMo1-UP/BB24) and > 690 N/mm2

    (3NiCrMo2.5-UP/BB24)

BHLER BB 24 is a fluoride-basic, agglomerated flux. Its metallurgical behaviour is neutral, designed to produce consistently good mechanical properties with high impact values at low test temperatures. Smooth beads with good wetting characteristic as well as easy slag removal and low hydrogen content ( 5 ml/100 g),are produced.

Rutile coated stainless steel electrode. Anacknowledged world leader, noted for itssuperior welding characteristics and metallurgy. Can be used on AC or DC.Other advantages include high current carrying capacity, minimum spatter forma-tion, self releasing slag, smooth and cleanweld profile, safety against formation ofporosity due to moisture resistant coatingand packaging into hermetically sealed tins. Fully alloyed core wire ensures themost reliable corrosion resistance.

BHLER FOX ASN 5 is a basic coatedelectrode. Its weld metal shows a stable austenitic micro structure with good pitting resistance (PREN > 35) and crevice corrosionresistance as well as an excellenttoughness behaviour down to -269C. BHLER FOX ASN 5-A is a rutile-basic coated electrode providing good operating characteristics on DC andAC, easy slag removal, smooth andclean bead surfaces. It is recommeded for wall thick-nesses < 15 mm. Both electrodes are characterized by an increased Mo content (4.3%) to compensate forsegregation in high molybdenumalloyed weld metals to meet equivalent corrosion properties as the relevant base metals with 3 - 4%Mo guarantee.

Basic and rutile-basic coated electrodes. For CrNiMo steels with 4 - 5%molybdenum where very high resistanceagainst pitting and crevice corrosion isrequired. The above average-molybdenum content (6.2%) is characteristic to BHLER FOX CN 20/25 M-A and FOX CN 20/25 M,thus compensating for segregation inhigh molybdenum alloyed weldmetals. The pitting resistance equivalent(PREN) is 44.FOX CN 20/25 M-A should be preferably used up to wall thicknessesof 14 mm. It is designed for excellentoperating characteristics on DC/AC.
