a. OldBusiness:1. TheSMSschoolroofiscurrentlyundergoinganinsuranceclaim

inspection;Itwasdeterminedthathighwindshascausedroofdamagetoportionsoftheroof.Alongwiththeseroofconcernsalsoposedmoistureinfiltrationissuesintoseveralclassrooms.AirQualitysamplingandmoisturetesthavebeentakeninseveralclassrooms,resultsarestillpending.

2. Odorsarepresentingthemselveswiththeseleaksintothebuilding,thecauseappearstobetheoldcarpetinthebuildingissmelling,thereforewewillbereplacingcarpetwithVCTinsomeoftheclassroomsoverthespringbreakandplantodomoreduringthesummerbreak.

b. NewBusiness:

1. Theinsuranceadjusterhadconcludedhisfindingsandwillberecommendingapproximately2/3oftheschoolsrooftobereplaced.Alongwithsomepatchareasandroofdrainstoalsoberepaired.

2. ThefollowingwasastatementprovidedbyHavanaEnvironmentalaftertheyhadconductedtheirindoorairqualityinspection:

Thesouthwallinroom9andthenorthwallinroom7werewetatthetimeofthesitevisit.Thecarpetinroom9wasalsowet.Havonadidnotidentifyanvisiblemoldgrowthineitherroom.Inroom9,theambientairsamplereportedaslightlyhighertotalfungalsporecountcomparedtotheoutsidereferencesamplewithanelevatedlevelofAspergillus/Penicilliumcomparedtotheoutsidereferencesample.AlowlevelofStachybotryswasalsoidentifiedinthisairsample.Irecommendthatthewetdrywallberemovedinbothrooms.Thecarpetshouldbesteamcleanedataminimum.

Theambientairsamplewaswithinacceptablelimitscomparedtotheoutsidereferencesample.Havonadidnotidentifyanyvisiblemoldgrowthanddidnotdetectanymoistureusingamoisturemeter.

Library

Theambientairsamplewaswithinacceptablelimitscomparedtotheoutsidereferencesample.Aceilingtilewasmissingduetowaterdamageandatrashcanwasundertheceilingtiletocatchwater.Thecarpethadawaterstainonitinthisarea.Thecarpetshouldbesteamcleaned.

Havonainspectedafewmoreclassroomswithminimaldamage,whichwillbedocumentedinthewrittenreport.

3. TheinsuranceadjusterrequestedthatMooringRestoration

removeportionsofthewallbetweenrooms7&9todryouttheareaandperformtheirremediationprocess.Oncethewallwasremoved,anindoorairscrubberprocesstookplaceandafinalinspectionoftheindoorairqualitywasperformedtoensure

thattheairqualitywassatisfactory.Thefollowingarethefinalresults: PURPOSE:OnMarch6,2017,CissyPuma,aCertifiedEnvironmentalInspector,conductedthefinalclearancetesting.Thepurposeofthetestingwastoensurethattheremediatedareasinclassrooms7and9werewithintheacceptableparametersinregardstothepresenceofmicrobialspores,aswellas,todetermineiftheengineeringcontrolscouldberemoved.SAMPLINGPROCEDURESDuringthesitevisit,atotalofthreeambientairsampleswerecollected.Thesampleswereadministeredinthecontainedareainclassrooms7and9,thehallwayoutsideofrooms7and9,andtheoutside.Theoutsideairsamplewastakeninfrontofthebuildingandwasusedforcomparativepurposes.AZefondigitalairpumpwasusedtoexecutetheairsamplinganddisposableaircassetteswerethesamplemediausedtocollectthesamples.Thepumpwascalibratedtodraw15litersofairperminuteforaspecificdurationoftime.Afterthesampleswerecollected,theywereloggedontoachainofcustodyandtakentoImmunoLyticsofAlbuquerque,NewMexico.Thesampleswereanalyzedfortotalfungalsporeanalysis.SAMPLERESULTS•Theambientairsampletakeninthecontainedareaintheclassrooms7and9reportedalowertotalfungalsporecountcomparedtotheoutsideandinsidereferenceairsamples.Thetypesofmicrobialsporesidentifiedintheairsampletakeninthecontainedareawereconsistentwiththetypesofmicrobialsporesidentifiedintheinsideandoutsidereferencesamples.•Theresultsfromthefinalclearancetestingshowthattheremediatedareaintheclassrooms7and9werewithintheacceptableparametersinregardstothepresenceofmicrobialspores.Atthetimeofthesampling,theremediatedareasweresafeforre-occupancyandbuiltbacktooccur.•Currentlytherearenogovernmentalregulatorylawsfor"safe"oracceptablemoldsporeconcentrationlevelsintheindoorenvironment.Typically,theindustrystandardistomakeacomparisonbetweenthetypesofmoldsporesandtheirconcentrationlevelsinaninsideairsampleandanambientbackgroundsampletodetermineifthereispossiblecontamination.
