How Did We Adjust?

▸ Board Support for Realignment of Strategic Goals and Action Plan

▸ Addition of up to 6 half-days for teacher collaboration, planning and ongoing professional development at the schools focused in Math

▸ Focused on Curriculum and Resource Alignment for Math: Addition of aligned resources to curriculum objectives

▸ Expanded teacher membership on Math and ELA Committees (STEM was already expanded).

▸ Created leadership planning groups for each curriculum committee (teachers, building administrators, & district administrators)

▸ Implemented Talking Point sharing and feedback process from Committees at Buildings and Admin team.

▸ Committee co-created portion of November Institute Day for math support. Feedback used to design March Institute Day.

▸ Two Report Card Committees were established to review and recommend improvements to elementary and middle school report cards.

STEM Committee

▸ Committee Expanded at Elementary Level to include 3-4 members at each grade level.

▸ Elementary Committee developed initial topic guides that followed NGSS 3-dimensional Planning Process

▸ Elementary Committee slowed work progress to investigate work of other districts and allow efforts in other curricular areas to take precedence.

▸ Joined District Science Collaborative to learn more about NGSS, connect w/other district’s work, and identify next steps for topic development and resource identifications.

▸ Worked with the ROE on resource identification and possible Professional Development partnerships.
