HUNTLEY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT 158 BOARD OF EDUCATION
BOARD BRIEFS REGULAR MEETING JULY 16, 2015
HHS GRADUATION CEREMONY MOVING TO VENUE AT NIU
The Huntley Community
District 158 Board of Education
approved a contract with
Northern Illinois University to hold
graduation ceremonies for
Huntley High School at NIU’s
Convocation Center through
2018.
The cost will be $11,400 for
each year, plus AV setup fees.
This change marks significant
savings over the cost to hold
ceremonies at the Sears Centre
in Hoffman Estates, which was
nearing $30,000 annually.
“Principal Scott Rowe and I
toured the venue in May and
believe it will be a very
comparable experience to the
Sears Centre,” said
Superintendent John Burkey.
Several area school districts
already hold graduation
ceremonies at NIU, including
DeKalb and Indian Prairie.
