Police BMW i8 is not just a model having the typical police colours. It was adjusted so as to perform the real duty. The car, which is furnished with a record camera system RAMER10, could be seen all over the Czech Republic, but most often it was driven along the D5 highway linking the capital city of Prague with Germany. On real duty, the car was used to chase drivers breaking the speed limit.

The Police of the Czech Republic borrowed this plug-in hybrid sports car within a one-year’s contract with the total limit of 40,000 kilometres. This loan represented the culmination of the cooperation within which 11 districts of the Czech Republic had borrowed electric BMW i3 before.

The special equipment elements of the police BMW i8 especially include original reflective pasting in the colours of the Police of the Czech Republic (Air Design s.r.o., Mnichovo Hradiště, CZ), sirens and blue lights (holomý s.r.o, Krásno nad Bečvou, CZ) and the speed measuring device (Ramet a.s., Kunovice, CZ).
