INTRODUCTION

Greetings in the Most Wonderful Name of our Lord and Savior

Jesus Christ!!!

In the challenges of the coming year, it is our desire that we fulfill the Lord’s Commission to “…Go and make disciples of all nations…”. In so doing, we are launching a new branch of our Outreach/Prayer Ministry called “Baltimore for Jesus.” Our desire is to take our city for Christ, one home, one block, and one community at a time, and we are inviting you to help make this all possible. We will present a packet to those who are interested in learning more about this Ministry, and to those who desire to be a part of this Ministry. We can guarantee that you will be blessed in this undertaking.

See Elder Robert Walker or Sis. Lillie Thomas II for a packet or for further information.

To God be the Glory!

In His Service,

Elder Robert Walker, Minister

Sis. Lillie Thomas II, Coordinator

Outreach Ministry

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you (Matthew 28:19&20 TNIV).

TAKING THE CITY FOR CHRIST

BALTIMORE FOR JESUS

Baltimore for Jesus is a Ministry Outreach first ordained by the Lord Jesus Christ, established by Bishop F.C. Showell and arranged by Elder R. Walker with the vision of going into the community for discipleship-evangelism; to win people to Christ and establish them into the Kingdom of God.

In any ground-based military conflict it is vital for the advancing force to secure their progress on enemy territory by setting up a Beach Head, or mini-Base until reinforcements arrive and victory is won. Even the Bible talks about the dangers of leaving a space empty after an evil has gone out of it (Matthew 12:43-45). It is equally important in the Kingdom of God to establish a physical presence within a community while continuing to advance in prayer and outreach efforts to win the lost. Whether you are familiar with this concept through terms such as Cell Groups*, Home Fellowship Groups, or something similar, it serves the same purpose as a Beach Head- to establish small groups in locations throughout the City as we continue to make inroads and people come into the Kingdom.

Purpose

It is our desire to see the individuals saved and people return to God. Our desire is not for them to have “head” knowledge of God only or to simply have an “experience” with God, but much more- a real and active growing relationship with the One True God.

Page 4: Bmore4jesus

Objective

Through Prayer, which is foundational, Fellowship, which is essential, and Bible Study lessons, that are systematic and basic, we plan to disciple individuals in their own homes, neighborhoods and community. By following the example set by the Early Church in the Book of Acts, we will be facilitating these discipleship activities in an atmosphere that is familiar, yet challenging, with the expectation that God will increasingly add to His kingdom:

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer… They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved (Acts 2:42, 46&47 TNIV).

THE NEED FOR PRAYER

For you are a Royal Priesthood, A Chosen Generation!

The Intercessors Call and Command; Mediator (1 Timothy 2:1&2):

1. To pray for the needs of family2. To pray for community3. To pray for the Government4. To pray for the Nation5. To pray for the World

“Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in Earth…” (Matthew 6:10 KJV) Pull down strongholds of the enemy Loose the captives

Prayer Covers

Page 5: Bmore4jesus

The Intercessor or Prayer Warrior - one who stands in the Gap and makes up the Hedge (who keeps the evil one from breaking through- Ezekiel 22:30 and Isaiah 59:15):

1. One who is “in tune” with God and His will2. One whose desires are unselfish3. One whose will is submitted to God4. One who delights in prayer and spending time in God’s presence5. One who hates satan and his works.

“Prayer is striking the winning blow,

Service is gathering up the results.”

THE PURPOSE OF FELLOWSHIP

Early New Testament Believers understood the importance of fellowship. Through fellowship and demonstrated love for each other, our neighbors will know that we are the people of God (John 13:35). Fellowship between believers and pre-converted souls will to continue to break down barriers, preparing their hearts to receive the Word of God. Most importantly, participants who actively share their experiences in fellowship groups can increase the faith of others, thereby encouraging others in their walks with God. Fellowship can include casual conversations, games, or icebreakers but throughout time and across regions food has been an essential ingredient to effective fellowship, not only in meeting a natural need but in promoting the bond of community.

This invitation goes out to the Church community to open up their homes, and then whosoever will.

Legal: An application/agreement will be made between the Ministry and the Host(s)-person(s) opening their home(s); to hold the church at no liability and to agree with the understanding that we are not out to establish churches outside and apart from the local (established) church; that no monies are being collected

Page 6: Bmore4jesus

for services rendered or payments made for use of said homes. Sessions will only be conducted with a team focus and there will be no single (individual) facilitators.

A Host/Home Owner application is attached.

DISCIPLESHIP-EVANGELISM, THE FOCUS

Facilitators, a team of teachers/prayer warriors, will be sent into homes (some may choose to conduct these sessions in their own homes). The objective is to gather teams who are willing to work along with the Evangelism Teams and Outreach Coordinators to visit homes where people are willing to allow a weekly, bi-monthly or monthly meeting to be held in their facilities for 1 to 2 hours, consisting of Prayer, Fellowship, and Bible Study.

There will be a lesson plan established as a guideline and a suggested book list. Teams will be assigned as the need arises or as they are trained and ready to open their home. All Facilitators are under the direct authority of their local assembly and their local Pastors and Administrators.

Ministry Statements

Mission Statement (What?):

We are fulfilling the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19&20 by setting up multiple Beach-Heads or Home Fellowship Groups throughout communities in Baltimore City while continuing to advance in prayer and outreach efforts to win people to Christ.

Statement of Purpose (Why?):

Our desire is to win people to Christ and establish them in the Kingdom of God: Not to simply impart “head” knowledge of God or to promote having an experience with God only, but to participate in leading individuals into a real and actively growing relationship with Him.

Objectives (How?):

By following the example set by the Early Church in Acts 2:42, 46&47, we will be facilitating prayer, fellowship, and Bible Study activities in homes throughout communities in Baltimore City with the expectation that God will add increasingly to His kingdom.

General Guideline

If the number of active homes in a Southern Area or a Northern Area’s Section exceeds 5-8, an additional Area or Section Leader needs to be put in place.

Areas 3&4 (North of 40)

The Northern area will need to be split into subsections to make it manageable. North East (Area 3: North of 40, East of 45/First Ap.) may be split horizontally in half, with at least one area leader and two section leaders. North West may be split into another four (Area 4: North of 40, West of 45/First Ap.), with one area leader over the four North Western sections and its four section leaders.

Secretary positions marked in pink may or may not be necessary based on the number of active homes involved in each section.

Areas 1&2 (South of 40)

The Southern areas may likely remain two areas (Area 1/South East/South of 40, East of 45 and Area 2/ South West/ South of 40, West of 45), with no additional sections, unless the General Guideline is applicable.

Baptismal Team

Facilitators should consider the Baptismal Team to be their best friends. Not only should every Facilitator have the Baptismal Team’s contact information saved in their phones (and possibly on Speed Dial), but Facilitators should make an effort to be able to at least recognize each Baptismal Team Member by face and name.
