Simple solutions

Trade waste services can incorporate options for General Waste, Dry Mixed Recycling, and Paper & Cardboard, as well as smaller containers for separate collections of glass or food waste. For larger volume waste producers we provide a Front End Loader (FEL) service. These robust steel containers come in a variety of sizes and are particularly suitable for easily compactible waste such as cardboard, paper, plastic and general office waste. Additionally, we can supply a range skips and other large open top containers on a temporary or permanent basis, whether to help manage site clear-outs or to deal with ad hoc bulky waste.

Since 2011, B&M Waste Services has achieved carbon neutrality to the British Standards Industry's Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 2060. As well as reducing our own carbon footprint, we believe in helping our customers to reduce theirs as much as possible.

Segregating your waste on-site helps to increase recycling rates and decrease the carbon footprint of your business.

Segregation options include separate bins for paper and card, glass, food and general waste. We evaluate the most suitable segregation options based on the individual requirements of each business.

We produce bespoke recycling reports to show how each customers' waste is recycled and the carbon offset from diverting waste from landfill.

Legislation UpdateAs per the revised Waste Framework Directive, all businesses who do not already segregate their waste are now required to introduce separate collections of recyclables when “technically, environmentally and economically practical” ('TEEP').

Refuse Derived Fuel

B&M Waste Services is committed to achieving 'zero landfill' and with our own Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) processing facility in Trafford Park, more and more of our customers are achieving 100% diversion from landfill. We work with like-minded suppliers across the UK who also strive to use RDF technology wherever possible. Non-recyclables are processed in our RDF facility and transported to a combined heat and power facility where they are used to generate electricity and steam for heating systems.

As a family owned and operated company we aim to support our local communities, offering charity, environmental projects and work experience support in our operating areas. For B&M Waste, corporate social responsibility is about managing our business in a way that enhances the positive and minimises the negative economic, social and environmental impacts of our activities. Over 95% of our staff live in the area in which we operate. We also offer work experience, a number of apprenticeships and graduate schemes and are always working to ensure we encourage our business to have a positive impact on the lives of the communities in which we work.

This year we have gone one step further in terms of improving our green credentials, as well as that of our customers, by helping to plant trees at their sites to offset their carbon impact. As part of our commitment to keeping Manchester clean, B&M Waste and a team of volunteers including customers and local friends of the canal cleared Manchester’s towpaths and have a number of other litter-picking events planned for the coming year.
