CP College Preparatory

ECCO Early College Credit Opportunity at college level challenge

Graduation Requirements = 24 credits

4 credits in English

4 credits in Mathematics

3 credits in Science

1 credit in US History and Constitution

.5 credit in Economics

.5 credit in US Government

1 credit in another Social Studies

1 credit in Foreign Language*

1 credit in PE or JROTC

1 credit in Computer Science

1 credit in Fine Arts Elective

*One unit must be earned in World Language or CATE, however,

students planning to attend college need to take at least 2 units of

World Language in the same language. Some more competitive 4

year colleges require at least 3 credits of the same language.

*The fine arts elective is recommended for those who plan to attend a

4 year college in SC

Grade Classifications

To be classified as a sophomore (10th grade):one credit in English, one credit in math and four

additional credits

To be classified as a Junior (11th grade): 2 credits in English, 2 credits in Math, one credit in

Science, one in social studies and 6 other credits.

To be classified as a Senior (12th grade): 3 credits in English, 3 credits in Math, 2 in Science, 2

in Social Studies and 6 other credits

South Carolina End of Course Examination

Program

Algebra 1, English 1, Biology and US History

20% exam

Schedule one per semester

English 1 = 9th grade

Algebra 1 = 9th or 10th grade

Biology = 10th or 11th grade

US History = 11th or 12th grade

STEM Scholars Diploma Requirement

Students must accumulate 12 points in order

to qualify for a STEM Scholars Diploma. Three

points must be earned in each category-

Science, Math and CATE courses in

Technology and Engineering.

Dual Enrollment – Early College Credit

Opportunity

A Student MUST have at least a 3.0 GPA

Student must score at the college ready level on the ACCUPLACER, SAT or ACT

Recommendation by school counselor

Approval of the high school Principal

Students’ parental consent to participate

Students must take 2 or more courses to qualify for tuition and fee assistance in the ECCO

Advanced Placement Capstone

An innovative program for high school students designed to build the problem-solving and

creative thinking skills necessary for college success.

Why are we doing Pre-registration? The Master schedule is student driven. Classes are

created depending on what students want.
