Cathy Lane is the mother of Jon Lane, a 2018 graduate from Elizabethtown College and a member of the men’s soccer program. She is accompanied by Jon and her husband, Bryan. In July of 2015, Cathy was diagnosed with kidney cancer days after a trip to the ER. The cancer had also spread into her lower lung. After an operation in August at Johns Hopkins, her kidney and the lower half of one lung were removed. In 2016, she completed IL2 treatments at Hopkins.

Two years later, in February 2018, she was rushed to the hospital where doctors discovered two tumors in her brain that were bleeding. The kidney cancer had spread, so emergency brain surgery was done to remove the tumors. She was transported to Hopkins where she had cyber knife treatments to assure the cancer was gone.

Before this evening’s contest, she started more pin point radiation to target one small lymph node in her chest. Through all of this, she was the “Team Mom” for two years and never missed a game while her son was a member of the team.
