Dear Friend,

You might have heard some bad things about Blog Commenting in the past months. Whatever doubts you have about it, this report will prove to you that Blog Commenting is still a very effective web promotion tactic.

Some of the reasons that most of us think that blog commenting is useless are:- blogs use the <nofollow> rule- for blog commenting to be effective we need to spam- search engines don’t register links in comments

This short report will analyze the blog platforms found in BlogCommentDemon and prove to you that the above three reasons are not true.

With that out of the way, enjoy this report!

Chapter 1: Blog PlatformsIn this chapter, I will analyze the blog platforms found in BlogCommentDemon.

BlogspotBlogspot is the grandfather of all blogs. You can find many Blogspot blogs with really high PageRank. I will give an example of a BlogSpot blog that is not worth commenting on and another example of a BlogSpot blog that is worth commenting on.

Avoid Blogspot blogs that do not have comments found on their permanent link pages. Some Blogspot blogs use a third party site such as Haloscan to host their comments. It is worthless to place your comments on this type of blog.

Bad Example:http://digbysblog.blogspot.com/PageRank 8

BlogCommentDemon 4

Let's click on one of the permanent link of one of the blog posts.

By clicking that link, you will be taken to:http://digbysblog.blogspot.com/2006/11/political-constraints-by-digby-josh.html

If you look through the page, you will not find any comments on it. This permanent link page is useless if your comments are not found there. So where are the comments? The comments are hosted athttp://www.haloscan.com/comments/digby/116493189884129647/ with a PageRank of Zero. But search engine do register a Haloscan comment page as a backlink, check outhttp://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http%3A%2F%2Fgeannie.com%2Fblog&bwm=i&bwms=p&bwmf=u&fr=sexp-rd&fr2=seo-rd-se

I usually avoid commenting on such site because a comment page without the original content isn’t appealing to me.

BlogCommentDemon 5

Good Example:http://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com/PageRank7

This is a great site to leave your comments on because the permanent link page will contain your comments.

BlogCommentDemon 6

Let’s click on one of the blog post’s permanent link.

If you look at this page, you will find that it has a PageRank of 4 with some comments present:http://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com/2006/11/there-is-big-hitch-50-state-49-bash-in.html

BlogCommentDemon 7

Take a look at one of the comments by ‘justinas’. It links to regional-news.com.

Let’s find out if the search engine has registered it as a backlink. You can check the backlink of regional-news.com athttp://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.regional-news.com%2F&bwm=i&bwmf=u&searchbwm=Explore+URL You can see that the link on oneredpaperclip is indeed registered as a backlink by the search engine. You can also find other Blogspot blogs as backlinks to regional-news.com.

This proves that commenting on Blogspot blogs is still effective.

BlogCommentDemon 8

Wordpress and Wordpress.comAt http://edwinsoft.com you can see that I’m using a wordpress blog.

Wordpress is the most popular blog platform, and is used by millions of webmasters on their sites. For those who prefer not to host their own Wordpress blog, they can have one for free at wordpress.com.

To comment on wordpress.com, you must register an account there.

Example:http://angryaussie.wordpress.com/PageRank 6

BlogCommentDemon 9

To prove that having your comments on wordpress.com blogs will be considered a backlink by the search engine, click the following link:http://www.google.com/search?q=link%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Frange.wordpress.com%2F&btnG=Search&hl=en&rls=GGGL%2CGGGL%3A2006-32%2CGGGL%3Aen

You will see that range.wordpress.com contains a backlink from one of the posts found on angryaussie.wordpress.com.

DurpalI find it very effective to get my sites indexed by commenting on some durpal blogs. Let’s look at one example:http://devbee.com/PageRank 5

BlogCommentDemon 10

Look at one of the page at http://devbee.com/drupal_seo which has a PageRank4. It has one spammy comment which says “Great Article!”. It is linking to http://www.imagexmedia.com .

If you click the following link: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.imagexmedia.com%2F&bwm=i&bwms=p&bwmf=u&fr=yfp-t-501&fr2=seo-rd-se

You will see that the search engine has registered it as a backlink. For a simple comment like that, you can get a free PageRank 4 page linking to your site!

This prove that Drupal blogs are effective for blog commenting.

BlogCommentDemon 11

BlogDriveThis is one blog platform which is underused by many people. Although the archive pages of blogdrive blogs are usually PageRank zero, I still find spider activities coming from those pages to my site.

If you look at http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http%3A%2F%2Fgeannie.com%2Fblog&bwm=i&bwms=p&bwmf=u&fr=sexp-rd&fr2=seo-rd-se

You will find that the site has a couple of backlinks from blogdrive blogs.

Nucleus, TextPattern, b2evolution and ExpressionEngineThese blog platforms are effective in bringing backlinks to your site. They work like wordpress blog and some of them even look like Wordpress blogs.

Remember to have your email address ready because some blogs require you to register an account before you can comment.

An example of Nucleus blog: http://www.ifroggyblog.com/PageRank 5

An example of b2evolutionhttp://wonderwinds.com/PageRank 6

An example of TextPattern blog: http://chanlee.sutoyo.com/PageRank 5

BlogCommentDemon 12

An example of ExpressionEnginehttp://www.engagementalliance.com/PageRank 6

TypepadMost Typepad blogs use redirect links for the keyword link in your name. With redirect links, it will not be effective to comment on Typepad blogs. There are only a few Typepad blogs that use direct links for the keyword anchored link in your name. You will need to leave your links in your comment instead of your name. Most blog owners will not approve blog comments with links in them.

An example of typepad bloghttp://dilbertblog.typepad.com/PageRank 7

LivejournalI find Livejournal the least effective platform for getting backlinks. You cannot leave keyword anchored links as your name. You will need to leave your links in your comment instead of your name. Most blog owners will not approve blog comments with links in them.

An example of livejournal bloghttp://supergee.livejournal.com/PageRank 6

Chapter 2: Different Keyword Anchored LinksSearch engines are getting smarter each day. Today, if you want to get higher search engine rankings, you will need to have a variety of keyword anchored links to your site.

For example:If all of your site's incoming links come from the phrase 'Car Auction Online', the search engines will suspect that your links are artificial.

Instead of having just one keyword link to your site, you should have a variety of keyword links to your site. You will also use some non-keyword related links to your site. For instance, you can split your use of incoming links into 70% of your keyword links like 'Car Auction Online' and 30% keyword-related and non-keyword related links such as:

cheap car auction;car auction online;car auction;easy car auction online;yourdomain.com;click here;visit my site.

Why would someone want to use a keyword anchored link to your site? Most people will simply link to your site using your domain name or mouse-clicking 'click here'. To make your site appear more natural to the search engines, use a variety of keyword and non-keyword links.

BlogCommentDemon 14

Chapter 3: Themed LinksA themed link is a link coming from a site related to yours. If your site is about fast cars, having a link from a site on car accessories is an example of a themed link.

Again, you need to have a variety of themed and non-themed links to your site. There are two types of themed links:- a link coming from a related blog (like niche blogs); and- a link coming from a related post (in general blogs).

We can have a variety of themed links coming from niche blogs and general blogs.

Remember to grow your links gradually. Do not get 1000 links on day one and expect the search engines to rank you immediately. The search engines might even blacklist your site as a spam site.

You can add 10 new links or even 20 new links everyday. It is up to you as long as you grow the number of links coming to your site consistently.

Appearing natural to the search engines is the key to long term success.

Chapter 4: BlogCommentDemon in Three Easy StepsLet us take a look at how easily we can find hundreds and even thousands of related blogs with BlogCommentDemon.

Step 1: Choose your platforms

Step 2: Enter Your Search Term

You may also enter your search term with quotes like “car auction”. You will see a pop out as follows. Try not to press the Cancel button and let it finish its search.

BlogCommentDemon 16

Step 3: Scan Your ResultsInitially, BlogCommentDemon has an auto-filter system to scan every single page and verify if each page has commenting ability. I found the scanning process too slow. Even after verifying was completed, a few non-commentable pages could still be found.

It was fine for verifying 1 or 2 platforms. But for 9 to 11 platforms, it would take hours! It was hence removed as manual scans of the results were faster and better.

The above are a few wordpress blogs found with the search term. From it, you can see some Category or Tag pages. Category or tag pages are not blog posts. They are groupings of blog posts with a similar theme.

Personally, I like Category pages because there are many similar blog posts around for me to leave my comments. For example: http://www.wealthyblogger.com/category/automotive

Chapter 5: Blog Commenting WarningI have bought many blog commenting software with no accompanying forms of warning from the vendors. Proper documentations on how to do effective blog commenting were just not provided.

From my own experiences, I discovered that some blogs, especially wordpress and wordpress.com blogs, have anti-spam plugins.

Some even share a database of blacklisted IP addresses and domain names! As such, I do not recommend multiple comments on blogs of the same blog platform over a very short period of time. You might be mistaken for a spammer!

For example:Using one of my demo sites to test the effectiveness of Blog commenting, I made comments on 15 wordpress blogs over a period of 30 minutes. The next day, I found my domain name being blacklisted. Any comment with a link to my site was filtered as spam by wordpress blogs with anti-spam plugins.

Hopefully, this report has been able to show you the high effectiveness of Blog Commenting. Without having to spam, you can still have an unlimited amount of high PageRank coming to your site for free. You should make Blog Commenting a part of your web promotion tactics to boost your rankings from search engines.
