MISSION STATEMENT: Blessed Trinity Catholic Church Stewardship Community recognizes Jesus is Lord. We believe that
our Time, Talent and Treasure are gifts from God to be used for the spiritual, educational and social needs of
our community, the Diocese and the world at large, especially the poor.
STEWARDSHIP BY THE BOOK
The Scriptures today remind us that “we, many though we are, are one body for
we all partake of the one loaf.” How are we using our gifts of time and talent to
build up the Body of Christ?
WORD OF LIFE
“God uses creation to bring us into loving
relationship with himself, most notably through
the sacraments. We experience this most power-
fully in the Eucharist, the true body and blood of
Christ, received under the appearance of bread
and wine, where ‘all that has been created finds
its greatest exaltation’ (LS 236).”

This has been a month of celebrations for us as Catholics. Today we celebrate the Solemnity (Feast) of Corpus Christi during which we commemorate the great gift of the Eucharist which stands at the heart and life of the mission of the Church. This is not only a time to celebrate this gift to us from Christ, but to consider its meaning and richness both in the life of the Church and in our lives as Catholics.
The celebration of Corpus Christi commemorates the presence of the Body and Blood of Christ, one of the Sacraments of the Eucharist. On Holy Thursday Jesus met the Apostles for the Last Supper, when He said, “This is my Body (indicating the bread) and this is my Blood (designating the wine).” We as Catholics acknowledge the gift of the Eucharist, as this is the food of our souls.
Twelve times during the Last Supper Jesus reminds us that He is the Bread of Life. He is quite definite about this reality. It is He Who gives us eternal life. Every Catholic Mass, not just this one, is both a memorial to Christ’s life, death, and Resurrection, and also a participation in the sacrifice which Christ made on the Cross for us. When we approach to receive communion, we are in reality at the foot of the Cross, ador-ing, asking forgiveness, and offering ourselves to Christ Who loved us to His death.
Today, and every day when we approach the Eucharist, we need to keep this in mind. We need to receive this incredible gift
and then as good stewards we need to share it by being disciples, by sharing the Good News in our lives and how we live them.

NEW YOUTH DIRECTOR FOR BT PARISH Mrs. Julie Martin has faithfully served as our parish Youth Director for the last nine years. As previously announced Julie has decided to resign as Youth Director at the end of July. Julie wants to spend more time at home, especially in the evenings while her children are growing up. The Youth Director’s job has a lot of evening and weekend programs. We are happy to be able to announce we have found a very suitable replacement for Julie right here in our own parish. Shelby Veale was married to Daniel Conner last Saturday. So she will be known as Mrs. Shelby Conner. I have grown up in Ocala, FL and have been a
parishioner of Blessed Trinity my whole life. I attended Blessed Trinity School and Trinity Catholic High School. I studied Theology and Catechetics at Franciscan University of Steubenville and graduated with a bachelors degree in 2015. I have most recently been working as a Middle School Religion teacher at
Queen of Peace Catholic Academy in Gainesville. I am very excited to be the Youth Minister and I look forward to this new adventure.
EMAIL ALERTS! If you would like to receive emails regarding all upcoming Life Teen events, news and updates, please email Julie: [email protected]

Featured Book of the week: “The Creed Processing the Faith Through the Ages by Dr. Scott Hahn Why were the early Christians willing to die to protect a single iota of the creed? Why have the Judeans, Romans and Persians – among others – seen the Christian creed as a threat to the established social order? In The Creed: Professing the Faith Through the Ages, bestselling au-thor Dr. Scott Hahn recovers and conveys the creed’s rev-olutionary character. Tracing the development of the first formulations of faith in the early Church through later ecumenical councils. The Creed tells the story of how the very profession of our belief in Christ fashions us for heavenly life as we live out our earthly days.

RETROUVAILLE...A LIFELINE
CORPUS CHRISTI “As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit. Now the body is not a single part, but many.” (1 Cor. 12-14) How are we using our gifts to strengthen the body of Christ? The purpose of His Church is not that each person alone saves themselves rather each person receives and shares their experience of God together and the gifts He gives them.
