“In times of darkness, holding the Rosary is like holding your Blessed Mother’s hand. Pray the Rosary every day. Abandon yourself in the hands of Mary. She will take care of you. “ ~Saint Padre Pio~ Join us as we pray the Rosary each Tuesday

at 9am at Blessed Sacrament Church. *Please wear a mask, bring hand sanitizer and maintain social distance per Diocesan guidelines.

Scripture readings can be found at : http://www.usccb.org/bible/ First Reading: For your might is the source of justice; your mastery over all things makes you lenient to all. (Wis 12:16) This reading, from the Old Testament Book of Wisdom, speaks of God – the power of God and also God’s kindness and mercy. When have you shown mercy and justice to another? Have there been opportunities – but you turned away? Psalm: Lord, you are good and forgiving. (Ps 86) Second Reading: And the one who searches hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit, because it intercedes for the holy ones according to God’s will. (Rom 8:27) In this reading, from the New Testament Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans, we are assured that the Spirit of God within us will make our poor prayers worthwhile. Have you ever felt that “I do not know how to pray”? Prayer is not a matter of words but an attitude of the heart. Gospel: ‘Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters, “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’” (Mt 13:30b) In today’s Gospel, Jesus uses three parables to describe our journey to the kingdom of heaven. In the first, God exercises patience until the wheat grows, so the weeds can be pulled without destroying the wheat. In the second, God waits patiently until the tiny seed grows into a large enough plant to welcome the birds of the sky. In the third, God patiently allows time for the yeast to work its leavening effect on the dough. Are there “weeds” in your life that pollute your relationship with God? Or “weeds” that damage how you relate to others?

Liturgy of the Word with Communion

here at Blessed Sacrament, has resumed!

Each Thursday and Saturday at 9am…

Join us for this 25-30 minute service led by Deacon Joe, with Bible readings, prayer

intentions, music and Communion.

Inspiration for the Week Grace and sin are found together. As much as our hearts long for union with God, there is always that part of us that resists. As much as I wholeheartedly believe in God, there is a dimension of disbelief with which I also wres-tle. Even though we may seek purity and integrity in all of our thoughts, words, and deeds, there is also the path toward weakness and sin that we find ourselves travers-ing. Just as weeds can easily overtake the best of gardens, so too can weakness and sin overtake and overwhelm a person. The call is to realize the power the weeds of sin have to choke us off from God’s presence. While God allows the wheat and the weeds to exist together, we must keep our eyes fixed on God’s mercy and for-giveness and resist the death that comes from giving way to sin and evil. In God’s time, the eternal harvest will come, and we will no longer have to worry about the weeds. For now, we must be vigilant and regularly seek the assistance of the Master Gardener. ©LPi

Mass Intentions have resumed ! Contact Rita Whitney (518-338-6858) for Mass intention requests. We suggest a $10 offering for those who are able to give, and offer you a card if you wish to send it the family of your intention.

Electronic Giving for Blessed Sacrament is now available!

Go to www.blessedsacramentbolton.org and click DONATE in the upper right corner to access a simple, safe, and completely secure way to support our church. Or… use any smart phone to text the word “Donation” to (833)694-0460 and follow the instructions! With either method, your offering is sent directly to Blessed Sacrament, just as if you placed it in our collection basket. We thank you for your continued support!

2020 Peter’s Pence Collection for the Charitable Works of the Holy Father July 25/26, 2020

BE A WITNESS OF CHARITY Next week, our second collection will be for Peter’s Pence, which supports the charitable works of Pope

Francis. Catholics around the globe support this collection to help the Holy Father reach out to people suffering in our world, especially those enduring the

effects of war and violence, natural disasters and religious persecution.

Thanks to Tom Whitney, with an assist from John Lefeve, for repairing our white and blue “Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church” sign that got damaged by the wind last month. It’s back up, clean as a whistle, and sturdier than ever. Thanks, guys, for a job well done!!

Let us pray… Almighty God, bless our nation and make it true to the ideas of freedom and justice and brotherhood for all who make it great. Guard us from war, from fire and wind, from compromise, fear, confusion. Be close to our president and our statesmen; give them vision and courage, as they ponder decisions affecting peace and the future of the world. Make me more deeply aware of my heritage; realizing not only my rights but also my duties and responsibilities as a citizen. Make this great land and all its people know clearly Your will, that they may fulfill the destiny ordained for us in the salvation of the nations, and the restoring of all things in Christ. Amen (www.catholic.org)
