Dr. M.I. Sakri presented the paper titled "Estimation of Fa-tigue Life of Electronic Packages Subjected to Random Vibra-tion Load" and awarded the best paper with a cash prize of 200 USD at "International Scientific Conference on Engineering and Applied Sciences" organized by Higher Education Forum dur-ing May 24-26, 2017, Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. M.I. Sakri got the privilege of chairing a session on "Mechanical Engineering / Computer and Information Sciences" on 26-5-2017 at the same conference.
Solar powered water cycle made by the
students of Dept. of Electrical and Electronics
Engineering under the guidance of Prof. Prashant
Kadi and Dr. Smt. S. R. Savanur. This cycle has many advantages like, it is environment friendly, no toxic fumes easily chargeable, low maintenance and low cost i.e., can be made by just spending 7000/-. It has wide applications in day to day life like

INFORMATION SCIENCE AND
ENGINEERING
A Guest Lecture on “Enterpreneurship
& Employ-ment Opportunities”, was organized by Dept. of ISE on 12th May 2017. The event was coordinated by Prof. A.A. Javaji. The resource person was Mrs. Tejashwini Yalwar, Business Partner, Sabala Handicrafts Pvt. Ltd. The targeted audience in-cluded students and faculty of the department of CSE, ISE and MCA.
A one-day seminar on “IoT and its Applications” was organized by Department of Information Science and Engineering on 19-05-2017. The event was organized in collaboration with MoU partner NorthernSoft, Vijayapur. Mr.Vishnuprasad , an Application Engineer from Ni-hon Communication Solutions, along with his colleague Mr. Akshay Kulkarni explained the details of IoT and demonstrated the usage of IoT kits for different applications. The students (UG/PG), research scholars and faculty of Dept. of ISE, CSE, MCA, E&CE and E&EE attended the seminar.
ARCHITECTURE
A Guest Lecture on “How to select the
dissertation topic thesis and How to write
the dissertation report”, was organized by
Dept. of ARCHITECTURE on 20TH May 2017 for
the benefit of 8TH semester students. The
resource person was Ar. Vandana Pusalkar,
Kolhapur.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
A Final year student’s Project
Exhibition-2k17 was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering on 25TH MAY 2017. Overwhelming response was given by the students. Total 56 projects were exhibited. Out of 56 projects, four best projects have been adjudged as best projects and awarded with cash prizes and certificates.

COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING
A seminar on “Motivating journey to obtain Patents” has been jointly organized by
Department of CSE and R&D Cell on 12/05/2017. The seminar was delivered by Shri S.S.Nara, a
retired school teacher and agriculture scientist who obtained two patents for developing
instruments useful in sericulture. The Seminar was attended by all faculty and research scholars of
our college.

BLDEA’s Research Grant
A grant of 5 lakhs obtained by Mrs M. M. Bannur of E&C Department from BLDEA for her project titled “Roof Top Wind-Solar Hybrid Energy System”.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
SAMBHRAMA 2K17
The annual social gathering of our institution was held on 2nd June 2017. Dr. S. B. Madagi, Dean, Science and Technology, KSWU, Vijayapur was invited as the Chief Guest of the function. The illustrious alumnus of Architecture department Ar. Brijesh Shaijal, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Dr. Madagi and Ar. Shaijal addressed the students. Dr. Madagi emphasized on the need of seeding innovative ideas in the young minds so that India can progress technically. He said that the curiosity and courage is needed to take the first step towards innovation and entrepreneurship.
Ar. Brijesh shared his memories of student life with the audience; he also expressed gratitude towards his mentors who shaped up his life. Both the guests distributed prizes among the winners in academics, cultural and sports categories. In the evening the function was concluded with cultural programmes.

COLLEGE EVENTS
Inauguration of Communication club
With an aim ‘to enhance the communication skills among students’ the idea of having “The
Communication and Commitment Club” has been launched in the college. Since most of the
students hesitate to speak out to show their talents, express their ideas, raise questions, ask doubts
and interact freely with teachers, the club took the initiative to lend a helping hand.
The club has been formally inaugurated by Shri. G. R. Kulkarni, renowned Professor of English.
Dr M I Sakri, Dean, administrative affairs of our Institution is the club convener, Prof. S.C. Sankad is
the club coordinator and Prof Anil Bharate is the staff in charge.
The activities conducted by the CLUB are-
Extempore was conducted for the members of the club. The members were taught the rules &
regulations of extempore and how to tackle with the nervousness and loss of words, and maintaining
a good body language.
Debate and Group discussion was conducted by the club for the members .They were given with
all the required knowledge about the GD’s and debates like its rules and the manners & etiquettes to
be followed while in it.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Communication Club members visited
Blind Child Care Home cum School, Vijayapura and spent time with the children. They tried to
understand the extraordinary senses and arranged a lunch for all the children. It was an overall
blissful moment for all the club members.
